Subject description: No more hex editing your SHPs!

Original idea: IcySon55
Programmed by: Nyerguds
GUI design by: IcySon55

This handy tool allows you to quickly change the radar colours of SHP files, to prevent them from showing up as black on the in-game radar. This is useful for fixing tiberium, ore, gems, bridges, rocks, and any other overlay type.

Features:
-Drag & Drop interface allows very quick opening of files
-Colour picker for faster colour selection
-Three save modes:
* Saving the current colour to the current frame
* Saving the current colour to the first or last 50% of the frames (Useful to ignore shadow frames on some SHPs)
* Saving the current colour to all frames
-The "Store Colours" and "Save Stored" functions allow quick copying of all colour values from one SHP file to another. This is especially handy for fixing tiberium, since blue triberium looks odd if you don't use the original colour values.

Notes:
-Requires the .NET Framework 2.0 to run
-Based on a tutorial by Bittah Commander

Yay! Now Icy can colour his bridges in TAKTICS #Tongue

Oh, also thanks to Banshee for the note on identifying TS SHP files Smile

Does it change the innards of the game files? Or is it possible to implement as a MOD-only change?

...please read this before asking silly questions...
http://www.ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=145241

And mind the fact that reading all the information in the first post here and looking at the picture should make it very clear that this program edits SHP files.

I wouldn't be too sure about that... the radar colour of the veinhole SHP is actually brown, so it seems that the blackness isn't caused by that...

Hmm...it might have been a modified veinhole SHP the last time I checked.

It was written in C#, what did you expect?

I really couldn't care less about your like or dislike for any given programming language or runtime package. We wrote this tool to be useful, end of story. If the user doesn't want the .NET Framework, too ztyping bad. They're lucky they even have the opportunity to use this program.

@Yuri 08: I tested it ingame... no changes I made to the SHP changed the veinhole's radar colour ingame. It stayed black no matter what I did. It might have something to do with the fact it's a kind of building or something, and has an owner... like the civ buildings are grey...

@Siberian GRemlin: What should I use then? I tried VC++, but it's one big mess and I have no idea how to use any of it.
The only thing I've done in C++ were simple DOS programs. This stuff with .h and .cpp files is totally confusing me. What's the purpose of the .h files and why does my GUI appear in one of these?

At least in Java, all files are just .java classes, with the same rules & formatting. Confused

As far as I see his post was a comment that motivates the makers of this tool to keep making great tools and stuff, not a spam, duwd... Please don't whine if some of us bumps the topics with good reasons like these...

Ok, sorry but usually if people bump a few weeks to say:
"Thanks Very Happy really good"
it tends to wind people up, strange how it didn't here.

This post may have been caused by the fact I just put a link back here from Bittah's tutorial.

I should really repost this topic in the C&C tools section too though, so people can easily find it...
