CnCCommunity.net will launch on August 4th!!

C&C Community.net will finally be launched. It's being promised since June and now they have almost everything ready. CnCCom is a site that will provide more interaction between EALA and fans from Generals and other C&C games. Here's the press released by Cabal, who is in charge of this site:

"FOLKESTONE, UK - August 1st, 2003.
After months of planning and preparation the launch of http://www.cnccommunity.net (CnCCom) has been set for Monday August 4th. The launch was delayed due to exams, vacations, layout issues and work constraints, but the layout is finished and the content almost completed so the site is now ready for the final stages of testing.

CnCCom will not only feature news and events posted directly by fans from the C&C community fansites, but for the first time past and present development team members will be posting news directly onto the site. This news will be either general developer news or personal news which can be found on their own page. When appropriate Developers Diaries will also be posted by the team - to keep the fans updated with the development of their favorite games.

CnCCom is a joint effort between various people in the community such as Scott "Cabal" Daniells, chickendippers, Aaron Pintor and Ash. The idea behind this project is to have a site run by the community, for the community with the sole mission of improving the C&C Community. We aim to do this by allowing people from all over the community and indeed the world to work together, by allowing people to see all around the community from one place and also by bringing the developers and fans closer together.

The site will also have a Fansite of the Week page, which has previously been seen on Official games sites. The first fansite of the week has already been chosen, and will be announced as soon as the site launches. After launch we also have chats, contests with lots of cool prizes and many other things planned. To tell you all of them now would spoil it. I can tell you that we intend to have an online database of the C&C community to allow you to find whatever you want easily. This will take some time to implement unfortunately.

Login details for the developers is being sent out today and details for the current community members will be sent either on Saturday evening or on Sunday (UK time). Anybody from the C&C Community is welcome to become a member of CnCCom. Simply e-mail membership@cnccommunity.net with your details and which site you work for and we will get back to you.

Don't forget - starting monday http://www.cnccommunity.net will be your first stop to find information in the community, the only place to see news posted directly by the developers, and the first site dedicated to improving the C&C community for everybody.
