Nice loadout, but I hate the clear plastic ones... Is that a paintball/airsoft "arena" or is it just roaming in the woods? _________________ Comcast: Yo dawg we herd yo were downloading, so we put fail in yo modem so yo cant download while yo failin! QUICK_EDIT
Nice TB. My Friends and I have airsoft battles in this creek area that is cut off from everywhere else. Tons of trees and shubbery it's totally a jungle there. That place is the best. We also play with bottle rockets that we place in fake rocket launcher tubes. We also have custom guns that we've made. We used to have a lot that had 2 abandoned houses and a huge field but that got all torn down. some epic battles there. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT

what freaks me out is you have a shotgun with an M4 buttstock.... :/ _________________ "Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there." -Adam Young QUICK_EDIT
I'm not surprised you don't go to arenas with those, you'd get whipped even with British-limit guns - and American players are normally pushing stupid power levels.
Mine:
M16VN & M203, M1911A1, SL8(ish), USPc, cheap shotgun, Biohazard Beretta M9 (with some extra bits), L96, MP5k (with M4 stock), M16VN, M4-thing, AUG and a G36k.
Do I win?
I don't have all of these anymore, but I did have them all at the same time (the M4 and M16s are the same gun with some parts swapped, the SL8 is the G36k with a kit on it).
The M16 with the M203 looks bent but it's just because of the camera. _________________ Last edited by Daz on Mon Apr 28, 2008 2:30 pm; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT

My god... I want those too! Too bad here in Holland you can't get them everywhere, and we don't have that much good places for battles. Also, those things are illegal here IIRC... QUICK_EDIT
Pretty much illegal here in Singapore too. We're such a tiny country, but there's some pretty dense woods here. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
They (replica imitation firearms) are illegal to manufacture, sell or import in Britain unless you fall under one of the defenses (one of which is airsoft skirmishing) and are over 18. Or you can get them in one of the pre-defined colours (bright green, blue or orange for example) in which case they're IFs instead of RIFs, though I believe you still have to be 18.
I sold most of mine before the law changed so I'm down to a short all-metal M4, two spring shotguns that aren't worth selling, a gas revolver, a gas Resident Evil Berretta M9 and a gas USP Compact.
I wish I hadn't sold the SL8/G36k, it was awesome setup like it is in the first pic. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
as I understand it you British play under 280 fps with 0.2g BBs do you not? and that those with rifles that shoot higher than 280 fps are not allowed.
Here in the Phils, 330 fps rifles are laughed at and ridiculed. 380 fps is usually the minimum, and 450-500 fps the highest cap. And then, there are the open-fps games.... I need more armor for those games
and to those who can't get airsoft because their country prohibits them, too bad.
@ Team Black,
Hey, nice to see you playing too . Now all you need to do is get some surplus military outfit. And I believe that your laws require you to have that orange plastic tip eh? _________________ "War.... war never changes....." QUICK_EDIT
The legal limit before shooting someone with one is considered assault is around 350FPS with a 0.2g BB, the majority of sites however give a 328FPS target and allow 5% over that (why they don't just say 344FPS absolute limit I don't know).
A fair few sites allow single action guns (bolt-action rifles for example) to be up to 500FPS for sniping provided you keep to a minimum engagement distance, I presume they have in their Ts and Cs that by playing there you accept you may be shot by a 500FPS rifle.
To be honest I prefer having to put up with less range versus having to wear padding and full face masks. In the summer you normally get people in short sleeved t-shirts and most people just wear safety glasses all the time.
I get really warm only wearing a tee and a flak vest (without even getting to any load-bearing gear) just standing around, so I'd hate to have to play in full protective stuff or face serious pain. _________________ QUICK_EDIT

I just use sunglasses or safety goggles mostly, but full face masks are best, as it's not very fun to get hit in the mouth or ear
I have a camo hunting shirt I wear with fingerless gloves and sexy camo bandana, but I didn't have them with me during that game.
And yea, all guns that aren't guns are required by law to have orange tips on them. I got pulled over the other day becase me and my friends were foolin around with them in my car, they checked the orange tips and let me go (though they gave me a ticket for my license plate since it's displayed improperly in my windshield) _________________ The Fall of Hammerfest - Epic Tiberian chain story

Hm... do you actually have to wear armor to use those?
yes you do. There was a case in one of our games when somebody shot someone almost point blank with a sniper rifle and the plastic bb caused some bleeding because it penetrated the flesh (no protection there).
also, getting hit by 450 and over fps rifles will REALLY hurt if you don't have 'armor' on.
@ Daz,
I see. someone I chatted with said that 280 fps was the limit for british games, I guess what he said wasn't exactly the rule.
in our games, full facemasks and body vests are a must; unless you'd like to wear 3 sweaters in a tropical country such as ours
@ TB,
you should be careful around cops. here law enforcement isn't as strict as those in your country but we take care not to draw too much attention nonetheless. Word is, there's a clamor about airsoft in the states; is this true? _________________ "War.... war never changes....." QUICK_EDIT
In my state of Pennsylvania I dont know of any stricter laws being enacted but I think the government in D.C. is trying to get it so that only the crappy clear plastic guns are allowed... _________________ Comcast: Yo dawg we herd yo were downloading, so we put fail in yo modem so yo cant download while yo failin! Well, I don't enter official competitions because the M4 that I have is modified (hence all the duct tape) with a stronger spring and updated safety mechanism. We clocked it at roughly 500 ~ 550 fps. The shotgun I have has a 4 round capacity. Single round it fires at about 400 fps, but with four rounds it usually clocks at 250 ~ 300 fps.
I'm also armed with twin Beretta M9's and a Colt .45, both firing at only 250 ~ 300 fps.
Depending on quality, you can get them as cheap as $50 US up to $500 US _________________ "Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there." -Adam Young QUICK_EDIT
If you're looking for expensive rifles, you can buy the "trusted" names Classic Army, Tokyo Marui. But these usually cost 4 times as much as Chinese ones. Another thing I don't like about them is that they shoot low FPS .
the Chinese brand Jing Gong rifles are very affordable. You can get one for as low as 140 dollars. That's a good buy because JGs shoot at 350-420 fps straight out of the box. JG rifles are sufficiently sturdy, but majority of the exterior is made of plastic.
Another Chinese brand, Army Armaments make rifles that have a steel exterior (SA80 A1). my SA80 shoot at 420-450 fps.
The best things about Chinese brands is that you can have them upgraded as much as you want without much apprehension because you can easily get one and you don't have to upgrade them if you just want to play because they shoot relatively high FPS anyway.
@ Apex,
hehe, if you only get clear plastic ones. then that's not going to be very good _________________ "War.... war never changes....." QUICK_EDIT

I think he must have gotten confused with the stock FPS for most Marui guns.
Unless that was one of the extreme CQB sites where you're at really short range indoor all the time, I think some of those have lower limits for obvious reasons.
Biohazard wrote:
how much for a airsoft gun? like the average
That got a whole lot more complicated lately because of the Chinese companies making guns as good as the Japanese ones.
Chinese ones come with batteries and chargers whereas you have to buy them separately for Marui, CA, etc guns - but some of the Chinese batteries are a bit dodgy and the chargers are only slow chargers which you'll want to replace anyway. A quality battery goes a long way.
Sometimes it depends on the gun which brand you're better off with, I believe JG cloned the Marui G36c, which was horrible and plasticy. The CA ones are much much nicer.
On the downside for the Chinese guns, alot of them are still unreliable compared to a Marui and a fair few of them aren't assembled properly (pretty much everyone who bought a Both Elephant L96 had to disassemble it and put it back together properly and the selectors on Dboys M4s aren't the right size for other people's gearboxes).
Man, if Airsoft was legal here I'd be happy to shoot my pals with 'em. But since my country is _damn_ tiny...lol. Really, from where I live the road and other's houses are just a stone's throw away...if I had one of those M-4s there'll be holes in carshields and cracked windows. Ah, I'm sooo jealous.
Oh yes, how many "shots" does that M-16-like thingy's clip contain? Looks pretty strange with the nader. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
I've been to Singapore and it's a beautiful country imho. My family's ancestors could've migrated there instead of the Phils. but they chose the latter. I thank them for that decision because you can buy tons of airsoft here, no strings attached whatsoever lol
kidding aside, I don't really know how strict customs can be in Singapore with regards to stuff like airsoft guns, but if you want it really bad you can:
1.) Contact Redwolf airsoft (google it) and ask them to send the airsoft rifle to you in separate pieces. When it arrives, you can assemble it yourself. This has worked for some people, and the chances of the rifle being seized and confiscated will be rather less.
2.) Smuggle it whole from Malaysia to Singapore . But may Heaven be with you if you get caught.
As for the clips, there are hi-cap and low-cap mags. Personally, whichever I have, I only fill my magazines with 24+30 BBs (the 24 is a buffer, only 30 rounds ever get shot) to go for a realistic effect. The problem is my teammates and opponents ALWAYS fill their magazines with hundreds of BBs, so I'm always changing mags while they're not. _________________ "War.... war never changes....." Mine?
The Vietnam short mag would take 20 rounds if it was a real gun, airsoft ones come in various sizes and those particular ones are 90 rounds.
The full length ones (30 round size) come in anywhere between 30 and 300 rounds but mine are 100 rounds midcaps (except for one that came with a gun which is a 300 round hicap).
Talking of magazines, my SL8 and G36k take STANAG (M16, L85, FAMAS, etc) magazines because of the aftermarket magwell. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
