Olaf van der Spek has recently (about a week ago) updated XCC Mixer, after not touching it for some long years. XCC Mixer is a sacred tool for any old school C&C modder (anything prior to Generals), allowing modders to browse .mix files and view most of the file types that it holds. Here's his changelog:


- A number of bugs that caused crashes have been fixed.
- WSA files from Dune 2 can be played.


As you can see, the bugs he fixed were not revealed. I trully hope he fixed any problems with PNG preview I used to have in the 1.45 version (the 1.44 worked fine).

You can download the latest version of the program at XCC Homepage.


It has been so long since the last time that I've visited Olaf's site that I didn't noticed that he updated XCC Game Spy twice, back in march. It fixes some issues with MCV, allows you to take screenshots and you can launch the game with XGS as well.

I wish he'd make the middle column file browser open up by default, or at least SAVE how far it has been opened -_-

And dammit, if I knew he'd update it for that I would've asked him to implement filename lists for all WW games (like Blade Runner etc.) while he was at it anyway... I was there in the thread where we messed with the Dune II file formats.

Bah... it can't even read the RA1 mouse cursor yet Sad
(it's just Dune II SHP format... it should be able to read it)

NewGuy... VK's version crashes if you right click in the second file browser column if you don't have a file selected there -_-
