TFOtbBPVCpbBaTMtnC's Voxel Competition!
Subject description: No, TFOtbBPVCpbBaTMtnC is not a password, but it would be an uncrackable one.
It has been a while since raminator has been organizing the TFOtbBPVCpbBaTMtnC, which stands for "The First Occasional the brewery Banana People Pie VXL Competition powered by Beer and Tesla-Monkey-throwing nuclear Cows".
This voxel competition is themed on Red Alert 3. You should send only one entry based on units seen on screenshots and renders of the game. Submit your creation to Chielscape by May 24th and good luck. Your voxel will be rated anonymously by raminator, Rawlo and Jeeves. In short, do not display screenshots of your voxel (or upload your voxel) in public areas or to one of the judges, in order to not be disqualified. Check out the rules HERE.
And finally, let's end this news with a nice voxel that MadHQ has made somewhat inspired in the name of this contest... or whatever...
CyborgteslaarmouredGIeatingbearswithteslacoilsmountedonitsback =/ It looks pretty nice, I think. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT

A cracker programmed to test every ASCII character ever for up to 256 chars would eventually break it.
Only problem is, that may take awhile.
Man...only with brute force, which means that the person would need a NP algorithm to do that: in short, take years or at least a lot of time... enough to be auto-banned by the server before the person cracks the password. QUICK_EDIT

If somebody is smart enough to design a program capable of doing that, rest assured, they won't have just one computer. _________________ PPM's Reichstrollfuherer, 236th Trollenparties brigade. QUICK_EDIT

Voxel can be animated (Sections) in HVA, but it will look like classical robot. _________________

I KNOW voxels can be animated (like the Mammoth Mk II), but I was wondering if this one was animated... Seems too complex to animate tbh. _________________ QUICK_EDIT

Actually, they have brute forcing down for that kind of password to around 24 hours maybe two days with quad core CPUs, and multiple systems in clustering.
Add !$@#$ in and it jumps that up to years. XD
So say your password was vonismeep
2 hours max for that alone.
\/0n1sm33p - add about 4 to 5 months.
Thing behind it is that its basically dictionarys it hits up first to figure out clues to the words, then pieces those together, then theres algorithms and bunch of other crap used...Yea...I've spent too much time in network security classes. 3:
Also, good point, some servers ban after the first few tries, and requires a admin to unlock it afterwards. 3:

Yes, you beat me to it, bastard. _________________ ... QUICK_EDIT
Is it illegal to ask for help on the comp?
I joinded with only one Voxel under my belt, and I dont want to miss something that would exclude me from it. _________________ I am Zengar Zombolt, The Sword That Cleaves Evil! There is Nothing I can not Cut! QUICK_EDIT
Oh... And, One last thing, Do Air Units need a HVA file? _________________ I am Zengar Zombolt, The Sword That Cleaves Evil! There is Nothing I can not Cut! QUICK_EDIT
My Ra2 is broken, and I just started so I didn't know. _________________ I am Zengar Zombolt, The Sword That Cleaves Evil! There is Nothing I can not Cut! QUICK_EDIT

If you wanna make a voxel for a competition, you must test it ingame. Otherwise, you'll be sending trash, which is not welcomed into any competition... QUICK_EDIT
Ohhh....Well, then, It's going to public! _________________ I am Zengar Zombolt, The Sword That Cleaves Evil! There is Nothing I can not Cut! QUICK_EDIT

The Mammoth Mark II was an SHP, NOT a voxel. The Titan was an SHP, NOT a voxel (its turret was a voxel though). The Wolverine was an SHP, NOT a voxel. The Core Defender was an SHP, NOT a voxel. ALL flying vehicles in TS/FS were voxels, NOT SHPs. Voxels can't be animated in the sense you're talking about (and I know about HVAs but they aren't close to the same thing; all they do is animate static objects, they DON'T allow a static object to animate itself with multiple frames as an SHP does). Only in RA2/YR could we ATTACH animated SHPs to voxels to make them look better (the Mobile Gap Generator in some mods comes to mind as an example). I'll put it as simply as I possibly can; static objects are voxels, animated objects are SHPs. Got it? _________________

Mammoth Mark II is a voxel and I've used it many times to demonstrate new features and take pictures from the voxel tools, specially OS: Voxel Viewer. Last edited by Banshee on Fri May 16, 2008 1:33 am; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT

-1 internet sirmodsalot. ):
The Mammoth Mark 2 is a voxel. And thats why it looks like shit. (Of course, the size doesn't help.) _________________ PPM's Reichstrollfuherer, 236th Trollenparties brigade. QUICK_EDIT

But whole turret can be vxl when body is a shp, cannot be
EDIT: With I don't need to test voxels of soviet units in-game nowadays, although I do it to be sure.
I was heavily influenced by PPMSite, MigEater's tutorial, Dupl3xxx tips and some 3 years of RA2 moding
(I started before I joined PPMSite and Revora Forums because I haven't I-net at home).
Sorry if it seems arrogant, I want say it's all about experience. I will create voxel on 19th or 20th May. _________________
