Subject description: would this be possible???

I was thinking would it work to make a building thats buildup is a droppod landing
it could have Strength=0 FreeUnit=??? and the explosion would be a pod stuck in the ground
So if someone could check this out for me id be very gratful

Also if any one knows how to make one please tell me

(this is my first post here so please tell me if im in the wrong forum)

the drop pod super exists, check the firestorm rules

i think he wants a separate drop pod which he can build.

@Angic: yes, it should work and you found already the correct way to make this. Just give the building also an activeanim with damage=1 so the droppod gets destroyed as soon as it has "landed" (the buildup anim is over).

However, with this method you can't bring in new infantry. Everything spawned by FreeUnit is a vehicletype. So infantry and aircraft should be avoided since they would be converted into a vehicle and don't work anymore as expected.
But you can make a bigger droppod that looks more like a dropship and bring in this way new tanks/mechs etc.

in this case patch your game to version 2.03, then you can add yourself the code of the droppod special weapon.

Then search for firestrm.ini on the internet and copy its droppod sw code into your rules.ini.

Original TS with the 2.03 patch supports all the firestorm logic.
In addition to that, it is generally not though possible to make a good drop pod building which isn't heavily bugged.

It should be fairly easy to find the firestorm inis on a modding site.
