Vista users: You can play RA2 and TS on LAN!

Scorpio9a has released two patches some weeks that are very interesting for those who like to play old school C&C games.

The first is an updated version of the C&C95/RA1 Lan patch. It is a dll file that doesn't simply allows the old games to run in windows XP or better, but they also use UDP for LAN instead of IPX, which allows LAN matches with Windows Vista.

The second is entirely new: a LAN patch for Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 allowing Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 users to play LAN matches of the game, also using UDP instead of IPX.

On both cases, you don't need to configure IPX protocol anymore, which is a plus. Also, installing these DLLs are very easy. All you need is to extract them to the game directory and voila!

IPX-free LAN play for everyone, even Vista-tards, is a minute thing? It's been a huge issue for a long time (even before Vista). Where the hell have you been hiding?

Not months. They were released on May 24th and today is June 15th of the same year. It's not even a month. And my real life is a big mess at the moment. It's being too hard to manage time for university, CAE exams, PPM, Revora, campaign for mod SDK and a bunch of random offline activities I'm doing at the moment plus a trip that didn't happen, but also costed me a lot of time and changed all my plans for a moment.
