I do not have internet access, so I'm temporarily putting hyper in charge of XTX as well. anything from TO.

It was based off of the TO screenshots yes, but I have no intention of releasing any terrain I recreated from screenshots, as I feel this would step on the TO team's toes a bit; I created them for personal use anyway.

I just took the extra images from the low pavement cliffs and made them twice as high, then it was a simple matter of copy and paste. _________________ QUICK_EDIT

Like I said, I do plan on releasing it, but it's not quite finished, there are still a few things I need to work out. Plus, I've yet to convert a lot of this stuff to the snow theatre. those aren't all remakes, most of those are freshly made by the creators

I didn't even get the last few comments ... I think the question asked was is anyone working on any replacement terrain art for YR like MadHQ did.
Regardless if the story is a remake or not, it depends on the quality of the mod content.
I personally find that a massive insult to any modder who enjoys CNC in regards to your comment IcySon55.
So because you got Mario with blood its suddenly woo hoo original? Oh the irony .. you've just "copied" a famous Nintendo brand. If it sounds insulting it is because thats basically how your message comes across to all the modders.

Mario has never seen an RTS. The entire concept of Mario in an RTS is completely original. More than half the material is our own creation.

That's how the slopes look for the low pavement cliffs; if I made the high pavement cliff slopes like that, they would look awkward. As for YR terrain editing, I think the terrain expansion that was released was sufficient; thus I will not be making terrain for YR in the near future. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
Frankly, Icy you have an attitude problem. Just because a mod has 'GDI' and 'Nod' doesnt make them non origional. They are just names, someone could make DEF and EDI and be less origional then most of the mods because it has the same campaign etc as TS or TD. In the end, its how the mods make the campaign and unit list that counts. Besides, this is a cnc forum, ofcourse their going to stay reasonably within the theme .

I do agree Icy, bout mario newer seen in a RTS, and your mod is one of few "new" mods. Others are AR2, D-Day and Blitzkreig? "new" mods with new cool stuf to explore. And so far, I hvae yet to see the MO terrain in the mod, only screenshots

I couldn't agree more with Icy, no more remakes, but a compleatly new terrain, that same way as TACTICS has it's own special terrain. The RA2 terrain is cartoone, and the TS terrain is to small and not suidet for anything outside the TS world. However, I do like the mapo features such as small waterfall. The only problem is I suck at 3D, and I can't make anyting "lifelike" in textures. Think of it as a new terraintype, replasing the "Natural" terrain, and make and "urban" and make a complete merge of Natural and urban in NewUrban _________________ This is a signature QUICK_EDIT

I haven't made up my mind. When I completely finish making the pavement cliffs compatible with the extant terrain, then I'll likely release it.
Making the terrain compatible basically involves making Marble Madness pieces for each piece, making sure that all the pieces fit together smoothly and blend well with the other terrain pieces, and optimising the the temperat.ini and snow.ini to avoid what I call "terrain fragmentation", which is when you have pieces that should go in certain sets scattered throughout a whole bunch of other sets. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
My windows XP failed. I had to format the drive where my data was kept. I have backups of all the TMP files, but it will take time to restore my modding tools and such. Next time I'll back this stuff up on my D drive... _________________ QUICK_EDIT
Bear in mind that you can't "defragment" the original tile sets and that you shouldn't do it to tile sets from previous releases either or you will break backward compatibility. QUICK_EDIT
