I planning on doing a WW2 mod for Tibsun, while im doing my big mod RA2......... Its not gona be anything epic I think.... If anyone has any advice or opinions, or even a name for it...

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY WOULD ANYONE BE INTERESTED?

Thats why I don't wana announce a mod yet.

This supposed be a small-ish mod, I mean most of the TS terrain can be used and Im just gona re-colour the infs as you can see. Also by what I know most of the coding and there won't be any building like in Sudden strike.

thanks for good feedback more welcome ofcorse,

By the way what do guys think of the no building idea? Question ....exept for pillboxes, bunkers etc..., you capture victory points which act like construction yards....This will make you feel your losses and enjoy your kills more Smile

hmmm... that sounds quite cool, kinda like the zeps in SS MP but building instead of reinforcements?
(for anyone who doesn't know what we're rambling on about Sudden Strike is an RTT WWII game by fireglow that is brutally realistic).

yeah... and turn on the FOW with a really hight Regen rate so as soon as your units move the fog gets redrawn.

If you have to go for buildings only do a few:
shared:
Barracks
Warfac
Radar
Pillbox (MG)
At turret

"I hope this mod will add more action" :]

That will be the main thing I will try to get to work, Putting the verosity of WW2 into chilled out Tiberian sun.... probabaly will be the most challenging thing, but not the most irritating...

Make vehicles and infantry have limited ammunition? Have supply trucks?

Looking good, but those infantry recolors are horrendous. Gufu's ammunition idea sounds interesting but may be a pain in the arse for bullet shooters, so if limited ammo will be done, I'd say only do it for anything that goes 'boom'.

That infantry is Getting some work done on them Very Happy ....seriously, I just don't want them to look too dark so they blend in with background....(no remap)

Oh, with the whole ammo thing, Bako'Ikaporamee's idea of giving ammo to only the big guns will be good option, and I think onlyy give ammo to only the really big guns like artillery.

If I use supply trucks, I want really clever ones, ie: they will repair/heal/resupply... at their own will and in a larger surrounding area, but that will make them try heal a dude stuck in the tracks of enemy tank during battle. That can be overcome by just warning people to keep the trucks far away from the battle lines. Another idea is that I could make them deploy and heal a surrounding area (I don't know if coding will allow it) and when they undeploy they repair single units in the area.

I just don't want players to have to micromanage their army, (that was the big problem in SS)

Oh and the pip(thingy) of ammo must be made smaller.

So its either no ammo or
- Somehow making super clever auto-repairing trucks or
- Warning people to keep their auto-reairing trucks far away from battle.
- Or get deploying trucks to heal a surrounding area (slowly) and then go all mother Terrisa when undeployed.
-oh or giving only big (probably stationary) artillery things ammo.
Question

Any other Idea's?

I reckon you should have "supply dumps" that units can dock with to re-fill their ammo and then have heavier tanks and artillery weapons have to re-supply there, or make the supply truck deploy into a little building that does this.

The supply stuff was the thing I HATED in Sudden Strike.
L()ki, you should really play Sudden Strike and find out which ideas are good and which are not.

L()ki does. I quite liked the suply bit but found it too restrictive in parts like SMG soldiers having about 5 mags and riflemen carrying 40 bullets...

Supplies for heavier units like Tigers and IS2s maybe, but for a guy with a garand or a jeep with an MG? Maybe not...

I've seen worse, try playing Axis and Allies made by TimeGate studios.
the resource and logistics systems are really bad.

True - the infantry will just loot the bodies, so no need to give them limits for sure. Tank destroyers and artillery... Maybe even a few tanks as well.

As i can see, the size of the vehicles looks small, so i suggest you to take the infantry's size of return of the dawm mod... I've started to do some american shp's, but you know what happened lol

Ps beautiful voxels, keep up the good work!
