Hello. Is it possible to put weathers in Red Alert 2 or Yuri's Revenge? Like Sandstorms, Rain, Wind, Hail and Snowstorm?

yes its possible as a visual effect.

Gamemate made rain/snow for Future Crisis and MadHQ also experimented with it and no it didn't lag.

Way to go AG. Tell the guy with no skill that it's possible although not particularly easy to pull off nicely. What's the point?

Because it can be done, in a manner of sorts.

I think the point is that it can be done if you have no life & an IQ of a billion so I wouldn’t even bother...

Yeah like the Mig Eater and the others said it might be possible but your pretty much on your own. (IE you have to do it yourself and wont really get help on it here, you also need a bigger brain "BEFORE" trying this)

Redalert2 was not made to support weather effects except for the SuperWeapon.

For Example: I would not try this becaus I think it wont look good and slow down the game too much.

Really, the way Gamemate did it is easy. Just add waypoints to maps here you want the graphical effect (Rain/Snow/Sand etc falling animation) and then set triggers to play animations at those points.

This way it looks great and surprisingly doesn't lag. It was done well in FC. In fact, you could even make "storms" appear with this, using triggers. Timer changes lighting like lightning etc and then sets off the rain animations.

The guy didnt ask if it is easy, or if he could do it. He asked if it was possible and yes it is.

IIRC MadHQ didn't use waypoints.

Basically its possible to do and if you have some experience of shp editing or have a FC beta then you implement into your mod. I'm assuming general modders will read this as well.

The process was explained.

If it was hardcoded then I wouldn't have said it but your lovely EPIC NO implies it couldn't be done by anyone.

Also size of animation shouldn't be too much of a issue as a TS tutorial for making a nuke uses a massive white shp to replicate the flash effect and from what I heard no lag issues.

Also I'm sure Mig Eater will be tempted too :p

Also thanks to Miggy and some new info on alpha images cloud effects r possible as well.

My retorts are contextual. Had it been somebody with the potential to do a good job and perhaps, grammar skills? It would've been completely different, obviously... Confused

Fair point, there is two ways to kill the noob, the good old retort/flame (which yes I do use) or overload with information approach and how something gets through. But yeah topic answered.
