Just finished this between my dinner and now.
The stupid "UI" was what took most of the time. Bloody globes...
Enjoy. The dinosaurs are based on some old film poster, you can see them duke it out on my avatar.

This is the TRUE face of the Below The Sun mod.
The mod is all about locking yourself up in your base, because you're to scared to go scout outside... Laughing THERE BE DRAGONS COMMANDER!

Anyway.
Theropod is the fast variant. Sauropod is the slow variant.
They will use close combat attacks for units and buildings. Aircraft and jumpjet infantry will have to deal with AA-tiberium. Twisted Evil

Yes I made it in Photoshop.

The UI is a shameless copy of the Crysis UI. I just love those tiny lines. So sexy...

I don't know? CABAL did it?

They're not technically dinosaurs...
It's just a teaser thread name.

tiberium that spread under earth to old dinosaur fossils, infesting them and converting the last remained dna (yes i know there isn't any left). Then the dna mutates into new tiberium dinosaurs.

Or goannas, lizards, crocodiles mutated into dinosaurs since they are descendants of them. Tiberium just activated the inactive dna and let them mutate back into dinosaurs.

Who knows, maybe you could tell us since you seem to know so much about how the fictional element of tiberium affects the evolution, or possible devoltion, of earth's fauna.

Alright, during the Firestorm crisis CABAL sets up isolated tiberium sprayers in warm and tropical areas, towers that spawn tiberium in a large radius around them.
Not only did this hurry up the mutation of plants and trees to Tiberium fauna, it also speeded up the mutations in creatures CABAL craved for.
Unfortunately for CABAL, the creatures reached stable genetics AFTER his core was destroyed.
The Theropod type can be traced back to Komodo Dragon DNA. The Sauropod type can be traced back to Saltwater Crocodile DNA.

Both GDI and Nod forces are weary of what could have been spawned from the reptiles in Africa and South America, seeing how easily tiberium is absorbed in their system and accellerates their growth and killing capacity.

So far I came up with:
tank-like Nile Crocodiles-Ankylosaurs
sandworm-like Anaconda's
stealthy and fast Alligators

After working out those guys, I'll go work on mammal mutations.

If the tiberium reanimate A million years old fossils, would it not also reanimate dead people on graveyards? Tiberium zombies!

Actually it has been reported a few years ago that DNA was found in a tyrannosaurus rex fossil. The researchers had found (well, this was about 2 years ago I read about it.) that the T-Rex genes was closer to that of the chicken than any other animal. I'm not very good at accuracy on subjects but who really cares?

In my oppinion, there could be improvement. It's a great design but instead of your creatures having a more tiberium affected evolution plan they are just dinosaurs with tiberium on them. I think they need more alien features.

Good luck!

Well, aside from tiberium whales with legs, I doubt there are tiberium mutations scarier than mutated lizards and crocodiles.

Nah its more to that...

, there are very different forms of "scary"....like Candiru/Vampire fish...Wink

I think while their size is what makes them "scary", its easier for people to understand...so once that happens...the "scary" goes away...

I remember when I first saw the TD visceroid. roaming on the map. I was totally..wtf! is that! I heard of them before, thinking they were going to be more bipedal and humanoid but damn was I wrong. :p

Fear of the unknown is usually what makes something far more terrifying than it really is.

Just some continuation on CABAL's Genesis Pit.

Well, preferably I'd use model that is completely rebuild. Of course they can be used as a copypaste base...

As you can see on the conceptart, the mutants follow a dinosaur-like build but certain parts set them apart.

Is the Tyrannosaurus really the biggest unit?

I think Gigantosaurus was larger than T-Rex, but T-Rex is one of the most famous and there's really one in RA2:YR (just resize and reshadow to TS). Wink

ugh Dafool that image looks so terrible...

yep.

It wasn't the only one either. but these are more recent discoveries.

Should look at the art for King Kong (Peter Jackson's). I have this tome of of many wild creatures they planned or created for it. Only due we see a fraction of the fauna in the film. its a shame really, some of its really interesting.

Technical information:

Despite the fact that the T.rex is one of the smaller "biggest" theropods, it probably was the strongest of them all, due to it's massive neckmuscles and dense skullstructure.

Hence all the rage on Jurassic Park III. Althrough the JP dinosaurs are technically half-frog half-dinosaur mutants.

New critter list:
Tiberium Theropod (design finished)
Tiberium Sauropod (design finished)
Tiberium Worm (depends on Sandworm code possibilities)
Tiberium Beetle Thing (concept)
Deep Sea Thing (concept)
Tiny Crawler Things (concept)
