Does HomingScatter actually do anything? AFAIK it controls how inaccurate weapons with a ROT are but I've never seen it work. Then again an inaccurate homing weapon is a contradiction in terms so what is the point of the tag o.0

I've never really noticed it having any effect.

However, the best way to test something is to give it a huge value or near zero value and see what happens.

If you add Inaccurate=yes to a projectile with a ROT, it does have an effect, however.

I changed HomingScatter to 5.0 earlier & tested a inaccurate homing weapon out with no affect.

HomingScatter is set to 2.0 normally tho which is more then BallisticScatter which is just 1.0. That makes no sense seeing as you'd expect a homing weapon to be more accurate. But then there are no inaccurate homing weapons in vanilla RA2 so it doesn't really matter what it is set as...

Correctly noted, it's simply read from the INI and entirely ignored ingame.

Should I add it to the Ares/RP2 bugtracker? Or does it come under westwood idiocy?

If you can think of how it should be applied, sure, file a bug on it, but there's no guarantee when/if it will get fixed.

I think the intended effect of this would happen if the missile failed to hit.

This is theorycrafting,

Perhaps if a unit manages to avoid a homing missile, the missile would fly off in a random direction at a maximum distance being HomingScatter.

(the homing effect would "give up")
