Quote:
"EA has suspended work on Tiberium effective immediately," said Mariam Sughayer, EA spokesperson. "The game was not on track to meet the high quality standards set by the team and by the EA Games Label. A lower quality game is not in the best interest of the consumers and would not succeed in this market.

Not meeting EA standarts? *looks at TW/KW*
Wow, that must have been really bad :/

thank @ golan for this link

who thinks they should release whatever they have done? Free public alpha (or beta, or even theta) of this game, I mean why not, it's not like they'll be losing much. Atleast put some concept art up in a bonus dvd or something for us.

There goes all my remaining faith in the Tiberian franchise. Failalert 3 instead - not much of a consolation.

Not succeed? Lower Quality?
Who said that RA3 is an amazing, high quality game - other than EA?

I'm really hoping that this is a joke - but I am almost certain that it isn't.

I find it amusing that after EA Cricket, Harry Potter Goblet of Fire etc...
they decide not to continue development of Tiberium because of quality.

I don't think you should be comparing RTS games with FPS games in this matter though... EA's standards for FPS games are fairly high I'd say (which is what made me look forward to Tiberium, unlike with C&C3/RA3) Rolling Eyes

@OmegaBolt:
Couldn't care less about RA3, like RA2 it is just another spinoff anyway... #Tongue

I remeber seeing somewhere that they canceled renegade 2 because it was going to have competition at it's release date. EA didn't want to have a game in third place. So rather than having a percent in the pie, now they'll have nothing. I can't wait for halo3 on the pc.

Not me. I hate realistic RTS'es. Now if Generals would be during an global warming-caused iceage... or a post-nuclear wasteland... Cool

The age of empires series aimed for historical realism and succeeded in turning out some great RTSs

Meh I didn't really care about Tiberium anyway, was just curious about how it'd turn out. Smile

i thought Tiberian was a Tiberian sun version of Renagade and it wouldnt suprise me if Tiberian came back to us as a Tiberium wars version of Renegde

Eh...wot? It's Tiberium, and it was basically a Kane's Wrath continuation.

Suckiest Management decision ever, except the art style for RA3. #Tongue

Aye It's finito.. But It wasn't looking like it would have been a good game anyway. Now there may be more resources to perfect RA3 and possibly work on the speculated Gen 2.

SC: Ghost is not equating to cancelling Tiberium. (seriously it would take 5 minutes to think of a better name than that)

Also, knowing Blizzard they had damn good reason to mysteriously yank off Ghost from everywhere. Blizzard unlike EA won't release a bad game.

They might not release a bad game but I'll eat my shoes if SC2 isn't just a fancy Rock-Paper-Scissors in 3d.

Hard counter soft counter hard counter soft counter.

It would be great if they would allow macro's. So I could pwn all the n00bs while sitting in the pub.

If anybody remembers this, for those who are members at TibWeb, there was a topic about how the game had been delayed.

I made a comment on how something had probably gone wrong, so they would rush the game and it would come out crappy.

So I stand by my post: Something had probably gone wrong.
