Subject description: I need help to add Red Alert Retaliation movies in Red Alert (TFD)
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

Hello,
I couldn't find a way to add the Red Alert Retaliation videos to my TFD
Red Alert, I know that there is a mod "The Lost Files" but in its readme
it says that using it will mess up with the rest of the game.
I want to know if there is a way of doing so, without messing up the original game.
I hope I get an answer.

AFAIK, Red Alert only uses the video files that are listed internally in its EXE file. Adding new files to that list requires a lot of EXE hacking, so Nyerguds created a separate EXE in which normal brefing videos are replaced with the PSX Retaliation videos. So basically you need to use that modified EXE to play Retaliation, and use the normal RA EXE to play regular Red Alert and/or expansion without video briefings. So TLF doesn't "mess up" the rest of the game, it simply requires a separate EXE to work.

I'm very happy that there are people who are far more competent than myself in programming issues Smile (I really am, no irony here Wink) Hyper, maybe you'd help me with a couple of issues in my project, Super Dune II Second Edition? Nyerguds told me there's some difficulty in hacking DUNE2.EXE they way I need it (first of all, I need to fix the "concrete bug" described in the project thread), and I'm almost completely ignorant in such things...
