Subject description: It does not detect a certain MIX file

A while ago, I had to wipe my C drive, where Yuri's Revenge was installed. I reverted a backup from my D drive, and of course all my buildings blew up. I fixed that by re-installing the game, then only copying over my modded MIX and ini files into the newly installed game. However, the game refuses to use a modded IFV voxel in one of the MIX files. The odd thing is, FinalAlert displays the modded voxel perfectly.

How can I make my game use the IFV voxel? I'm 99% sure everything is coded correctly and the MIX file is named correctly.

You know, it would be a lot easier to help you if you actually, oh I don't know, NAMED the mix file in question.

Sorry, DCoder. It's expandmd04.mix.

Make sure there is no version of the file loaded before it, see ModEnc for the loading list.

I think it should be in ecachemd04 instead of expand (according to the page DCoder linked to)... But then, I have my voxels and hva's in expandmd03, and they work fine Confused Maybe try a different expandmd?

Already tried a different expandmd, no luck. For some reason, any MIX file I try to save with XCC Mix Editor tells me: "Save MIX: failed".

DCoder: There don't appear to be any versions of the file before it.

EDIT: The MIX editor now saves and compacts properly, but my problem still remains.

No no no... On that list, smaller number stands for higher priority. Whatever is in langmd.mix cannot be overwritten from inside other MIX files, whatever is in expandmd99.mix cannot be overwritten without being in the language/langmd mixes, etc. So my guess is you either have a corrupted mix that the game can't read, or a file with the same name in some higher numbered expandmd (or loose).

I think maybe a corrupted mix file could be the problem. I already tried deleting it then creating a new mix file just like it, but that didn't work. Would I have to completely re-install the game?

I've just tried it with the files loose, and the game uses them. Why won't it use the MIX file, though? I'm sure that nothing is overriding it, and I've tried replacing the MIX file, so what's wrong?

Double check if it was overridden by changing its name, and/or assigning the image to a different unit.

Double check if the mix is corrupted by inserting it in another MIX, one which has stuff in it that works in the game.
