.ini - A text file which controls a certain area of the game. Art.ini controls graphics, Rules.ini controls some values. Overall, they are highly editable, to a limited extent of course.

.vxl (voxel) - A 3D object comprised of cubes. All Vehicles in Tiberian Sun andd Red Alert 2 use voxel files for their graphics.

.hva - Voxel animation file.

.map - A map of one of the C&C games. Varies.

.pcx - Image file, used in mixes for various things. I believe that loading screens are .pcx.

.aud - Music file in scores.mix of the C&C games.

.shp (SHP) - Infantry, buildings, and animations are those 2D files. Can have a number of frames (hence, the way animation is achieved).

.tem - An SHP file for terrain in temperate (summer) maps.

.sno - An SHP file for terrain in snow maps.

Correct me, if I am wrong.

Has anyone someone posted a tutorial on TS/RA2 modding file extensions yet? It might be a good idea.
