I suddenly felt the need to pick on some "flaws" in some of the story concepts for Ra2, and start a small debate.

Well, if we look at the Soviet leadership we have the Premier and his chief advisor Yuri. I think it's a mad idea that someone with the ability to control minds is in close proximity with the country's leader. I probably would have just put Yuri on the arsenal and not as someone who can easily gain control and manipulate the Premier unchecked at his desk!

Well, that was only one concept, but you may add your own ones here if you wish.

Yuri was like some dude, walked up to the premeire, and mind controled him. Then yuri had the premeire promote him or whatever. How can you really stop someone who can control minds?

As DaFool said,

The premier was yuri-controlled, in essence, all his actions were really Yuri.

He had no free will, and couldn't stop Yuri...

But as the story progresses Romanov looses free will.
Early on he isn't being controlled with psychic powers, just manipulated by Yuri. Only after you, the player, become a danger to Yuri does he take control.

What Yuri does in the first games of the campaign are exactly what Romanov wants, just Yuri takes a direct approach.

He can also mind control over communications, why doesn't he control you when you try to kill him?

In essence Yuri uses line-of-sight and telephony-wired-spirally-coil phones WHEREAS you watch a FMV of communicating with him. #Tongue

Tanya can't be mind controlled, so technology exists that canstop it. Like the tin foil hat.

Heroes are over 9000% patriotic to their countries so they're uninfluencable.
