Subject description: Well I had an idea just now and wanted to just put it somewhere...just incase

I have had an idea!!! Idea (probably already done)

Someone....should make... a homeworld mod!, call it homeworld ground control Smile or something, where you build a base and use mostly vehicles, mechs and hovercraft nd flying stuff...instead of infantry.
Ey! and you could even use full sized capital ships, frigates and corvettes to hover around and blast the shite outa everything.

Just imagine a mass of hovercraft/mechs fighting a hovering destroyer, overland

Probably have to use RA2...stay oldschool?

The space thing could be done I guess, but you'll need another engine to make it cool enough...put two games in one, like when you go into a space stage you use a 3D engine, with massive areas...(but it needs to be not so high tech,so as not to make the ground stuff look bad...mabe it could use voxels too?
(But space stuff(if possible) after a release of the ground one)

Just wanted to put it ere mabe might inspire someone. Wink
I could mabe do some voxels.

Been tried many a year ago but it was a space mod. I was working with ArgCmdr to convert the 3d models to vxl, we got some of them done & a GUI but not much else IIRC.

Yea cool thanks for the link.....I checked it out, looks good but thats also the reason why I wana see a land version with ground units instead.

Space in that engine is crappy.

There is too much depth in space for RA2... the models and idea were rather good but maps are not even big enough for space.

L()ki, you DO know that making maps over 150x150 causes...problems #Tongue Not in a sense that they'd IE or something, but more like lag. You can try, it's been done before IIRC.
