With all respect, they look really bad. Might be the palettes ruining everything.

looks like all you have done is make 10 different tiles using some random textures. It's a start but you'll need to make lots of different variations of each to make them look better.

The RA2 terrain pals aren't helping either. They where made for the existing terrain & don't really give much room for new types, so if you're planing to redo all of the terrain I would suggest making a new custom pal.

Actually I am not using the RA2 Palettes, I am using Wally ( a texture program for Digital Paint) and Photoshop C3. I plan on making some adjustments for these new pieces to try and make them look better and flow. They are a fist attempt at making grass, sand, dirt and ground tiles. The main reason I am making them is for my World War II campaign mod that I am creating. They will come complete with slope pieces

You will need 6-10 random tiles for the flat tile. 4-6 random tiles for each of the slopes. And 2 or 3 random tiles for the connecting tiles for other terrain types. Good luck. Very Happy

If you weren't using the RA2 pals then FA2 would look fecked up so I guess you don't understand what I mean...

Well, what I did was used wally for the texture, then I copied and pasted it to Photoshop C3, I created a piece using the temp editor and transferred it to a PCX file then opened it with C3.I copied and pasted my texture on the piece and saved it then I loaded the pic with the temp editor. I think... I do understand what you are saying, at least I hope so. but I do not understand. what DJB is saying.

What I think this means, is that the color of these tiles has to be a bit different to show that the piece has some depth, that it is a slope. Am I right??

4-6 random tiles for each of the slopes.

And this is suppose to be about the lat tile fixes???

And 2 or 3 random tiles for the connecting tiles for other terrain types.

I have heard that you (Mig Eater) have a WW II mod in progress and that you are suppose to be some kind of whiz at this. I would appreciate any pointers you could give me. I have fixed 2 of the ground pieces (flat tile) color and are working on the slopes
