Epic fail, not just a fail.

I know, I was just talking about the situation. The basic "don't bring knives to a gun fight" philosophy Wink

well in face to face combat, sure.. but, how many ninjas would you expect to be that stupid? #Tongue
(and even so, the pirate would have a metal star in his throat before he can even pull the trigger)

Ninjas are experts in stealth, they'll wait patiently for the best spot then blowgun a poison dart into your neck.
Since pirates are too rum drunk to know up from down, it's not difficult for ninjas to kill them in this manner.

Supposing you just threw the two on seperate ends of the colliseum....I beleive that the european style of sword combat to be completly superior to that of the orient. While all the slashing may look cool and entertaining, a simple stab is faster, more efficent, and deadlier. The romans carried thrusting swords, and they were only 2 feet long, yet they pwned all the barbarians who carried their long swords. So while you try that overhead cleave, you leave you entire chest open, which is just enough time for me to run you through with a simple stab.

Of course, a pirate is a drunkard outlaw who probably isn't informed in the proper techniques of sword fighting. Perhaps his historical peer, say an officer in a proffessional army, would do a better job. Or if it was a roman swordsman...

But if a Pirate has some metal chucked into his neck, he would still be able to pull the trigger, no? Then it's good-bye for BOTH the Pirate and Ninja.

The ninja and pirates fight, a harrier comes and sinks the ship.
No-one wins. Stop living in the past #Tongue

Any human would instinctively reach to take out the object in their throat - it's like how everyone instinctively grabs their throat when they're choking. Like in Saving Private Ryan for example.

Even if the pirate had such a concentrated mind where they could still pull the trigger, the pain would certainly cause the pirate to miss - let alone inflict any kind of fatal wound.

In essence Stealth > Rowdy...yes?

Also the katana a ninja carries stabs, cuts, slashes, slices and dices without the possibility of snapping, breaking or stuff like the other specialized swords do...examples like...let's say the longsword. It's made to stab. It's thin, and it'll probably snap.

Then the Chinese 'Dao'...a...it's used to slash, but its so broad it sucks at stabbing. #Tongue
