That... Thing....
Vietnam, used as arty a little, designed to stop T54/55 spam in europe, kinda retarded as you had to get out to reload, the barrages were effective though. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT
Dutchy wanted it to only have a certain amount of polys, so I tried to stay within that limit. When you work with 3d games (this is for generals) you have to balance detail with the poly count. Not to mention, texturing will give it alot of detail _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
A bit of history :
Ontos originally was designed as a light( weight ) tank destroyer that could be transported by air, using the M56 scorpion base.
six 106mm recoilless rifles are mounted which can be fired in very fast succession, making it rather effective against single armored targets if it got to fire, however, high profile and the fact the operators had to manually reload the six rifles made it a less than perfect vehicle in this role.
The only force to use it were the marines in Vietnam, in which they were used as anti-infantry vehicles, unlike other tanks "the thing" was much smaller and could be deployed in the dense forests.
Instead of using it as an anti-armor vehicle, the marines repurposed it for anti-infantry, anti-armor rounds were exchanged for flechette canisters, making it just about the most lethal anti-infantry weapon on the ground, with six shots fired in quick succession, a large stretch of jungle could be blanketed with flechettes capable of piercing through the thick growth. The appearance of Ontos was said to cause the Vietcong forces flee on sight.
The original designer later improved upon the design by simply adding a revolver chamber for each rifle, allowing many more shots without reloading, unfortunately, by this time, the vehicle was retired, despite the astounding success it was as an anti-infantry fire support vehicle in the hands of the marines. _________________ Micro TS

When I first have seen photo of this (on sleipnir's stuff - topic: wonders of the technology) it reminded me Emperor's Atreides Minotaur. So there they got that idea... (in this game Atreides is equivalent of Ordos Cobra artillery/tank, fires same howitzer shells but 4 of them at once, I miss that worm (neutral guy) destruction of 30 units in one attack, maybe some stormy map could help... ) .

The guns are actually 105mm They called them 106 to stop stupid people loading old 105mm rounds into them. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT
