I was playing around in the rules.ini one day and decided to set landable=yes to no and erased the GAHAPD,NAHAPD for the dock and to my belief the aircraft flew stopped at its moved location and remained airborne and hovered a bit.

It was definitely not Landable=no, because with this key the unit gets unselectable and you can't give it any orders anymore.
In addition do you get an IE if you write only "Dock=" so you can't have removed GAHPAD,NAHPAD from your Dock key while being still able to test this unit.

I found a working workaround a while ago and posted it on Tibweb. Unfortunately is this site currently down and imo it should stay Tibweb exclusive. A reason more for Tibweb to come online again. Wink

Nope no IE and it worked fine.
Oh and i'm using ETS no standard TSF.

then you should write this. Not everyone uses ETS Wink and if i'm not mistaken is this a research forum for original TS/FS only.
This should be moved in the ETS forum imo.

then lets turn it into hover bloons for TS/FS

IceDragon200 has his work around with ets but to get the full efect we would have to hack the following codes into TS

Code:
; balloon hover alternate characteristics
BalloonHoverHeight=1000         ; height of hovering vehicles
BalloonHoverDampen=20%         ; dampening effect on hover vehicle bounciness
BalloonHoverBob=1.2            ; time between hover 'bobs'
BalloonHoverBoost=150%         ; hover speed when traveling on straight away
BalloonHoverAcceleration=.04   ; time to accelerate to full speed
BalloonHoverBrake=.03          ; time to decelerate to full stop


Code:
BalloonHover=yes ; ie never land


and there would be other codes as well (im not RA2 modder so i dont think i have every thing)

an other work arround is to get ride of hover units and change the height (so it is a bloon that floots with the hover locomoter)

but at least (asomming thay dont greatly reliy on any other codes)thay should be slightly easyer copying over from RA2 (i should realy get off my ass and fail trying to hack those ra2 codes in to ts that i wanted)

I asked Hyper about hacking RA2 engin for some codes it not as easy as finding a line and placing it into the TS engin it takes a long time to learn.
