pic2 is of mix editor (pencil) to create mix files
pic3 is of mix editor (magnifying glass) to extract items from mix files most items you want to extract are located in RA2.mix and RA2MD.mix. These files can be shps, vxl, hva and ini files.

RULES
1 Extract the rulesmd.ini to your ra2 folder.
2 Open rules in notepad.

To add vehicles:
3a find [VehicleTypes]
3b go to the end of the list and add your vehicle with the next available number. Other posts have said about the 100 build limit , so you renumber the vehicles moving all civilian cars and such
that you can't build to number 101 and so on.
3c Then add your vehicles somewhere in the rules
3d If use vehicle weapons that are already in the game then you don't need anything else in the rules.

To add Buildings
4a find [BuildingTypes]
4b go to the end of the list and add your building with the next

available number. There is no 100 build limit.
4c Then add your building somewhere in the rules

To add Infantry:
5a find [InfantryTypes]
5b go to the end of the list and add your vehicle with the next available number. Other posts have said about the 100 build limit , so you renumber the people moving all civilian people and such that you can't build to number 101 and so on.
5c Then add your people somewhere in the rules
5d If use infantry weapons that are already in the game then you

don't need anything else in the rules.

To add planes:
6a find [AircraftTypes]
6b go to the end of the list and add your plane with the next

available number.
6c Then add your plane somewhere in the rules
6d If use plane weapons that are already in the game then you don't need anything else in the rules.

If you create a new weapon then you have to make a weapon, projectile and warhead. If you are just starting out I would worry about that later. Learn how to add before you do this.

ART

1 Extract the artmd.ini to your ra2 folder.
2 Open rules in notepad.

If you create a new civilian building than you can copy and past

an existing building renaming it to your building
If you create a new Military building with new technology it might be more involved something I don't know about. Same with replacing exisitng Military buildings. There are 4 files that can make up a building. I think its something you have to learn hands on.

Example would be the GAAIRC. if you extract all those files you can see what I am talking about. Once you see these files you will see those in the artmd.ini

Creating a new shp or vxl is more involved that I have no experience with
