Orange Star Missile Launcher
Subject description: It's been a while...
Hello everyone! It's been nearly a year since I released my last VXL... Which sadly was on TiberiumWeb.com... Anywho, onto the voxel...
This VXL is based off of the Missile Launcher unit from the Orange Star force in the game Advance Wars: Dual Strike. It's an Anti-Air unit, and I have not tested this in game yet... So far, it was designed for Red Alert 2, but I'm not sure if it is big enough, doesn't look big enough... If that's the case, then it's big enough for Tiberian Sun using Red Alert 2 normals. Once again, credit me, Shakar, if you use it.
The unit that this is based on can be seen on the left side of picture below...
Now then, here is the one I made... With some changes to it...
And further below, is the file it is being held in... Once again, I have not tested it yet, but I'm sure it is big enough for AT LEAST Tiberian Sun... Also, once again, credit me if you use it...
Some texturing and shading? Expecially for the launching tube (or whatever your suppose to call it).
And that orange colour is brutal unto my gentle eyes.
That all said there isn't many ways you can improve upon it, as what you based this voxel on is as ugly as high-heaven. No offense to your rendition of it which seems to be very accurate. QUICK_EDIT
Well, I was VERY bored when I made it... And I think the darker orange would've done better... But ya, I was really bored so I made this... And the game isn't that detailed when it comes to textures ;( QUICK_EDIT

IceDragon, didn't you read above? I based it on an Advance Wars unit, not a unit from a game that literally details their stuff... I based it on a unit, that really was just one color, and all I did was make a 2D version of it, into a VXL... As the name says, it's a Orange Star unit, and if you look at the picture it isn't textured... -.- So I don't see why this one has to be textured at all, since it's a really close remake of it, VXL wise... Last I checked, it didn't need a texture of camouflage or what ever, I was just making it based on the look of it from Advance Wars, which uses almost no texture at all... -.- QUICK_EDIT

Holy shit... I need to pay more attention to this part of the forum. If anyone would like to start making the rest of the AW units, lemme know so we can collaborate. I did mine with the AW style in mind.

how about adding some more depth to your voxel? like NOT making it look too much like a box? given the original object you are trying to convey as a voxel, i can understand that it may be somewhat difficult to make it stand out more... the color IMO is all wrong, if you're going to make a set of "Advance Wars" voxels, make them all remap, except for the tires of course. like i said, given the original concept, the voxel is hard to make stand out as a more interesting unit. good luck on future endeavours and i hope you start putting more than an hour into making a voxel next time QUICK_EDIT
