. Earth like planet

Was messing around in photoshop today and came up with this. tell me what ya think.

not bad
the only thing i have to complain, is the atmosphere. You should let it fade out into the black space.
A better lighting would be good too. Right now there is no shadow and it seems like the whole world has the same brightness.

can you also explain what you have done and what came from a picture? e.g. do you made the clouds or where they already part of the earth-picture, or do you made the whole earth too and used no picture at all?

Well the planet itself is made from scratch. The land and ocean texture is completely hand made, however I used a satellite photo to produce the cloud cover, it was just a flat view Spherized to fit the curvature of the planet. To do the atmosphere though, I just messed around with the layer styling, giving it a small glowing ring around the planet. As for the lighting, I just overlaid a simple guassian blur to give a small hint of light direction but your right, there's not enough, so I might go back and fix it when I have some more time.

in this case it's quite impressive, as the earth texture is very realistic and looks like a satellite photo. good job.

Just thinking, I might do a whole Tiberium infected Solar system now, since doing this planet was pretty fun.
