where are the art.ini and rules.ini files for the unit? without them the game cant find it, so are they inside the .hva or .vxl files? or what do we do with the download?

Please get an account, and ask how to add a unit in the Tiberian Sun Editing Forums.

Your rules.ini and art.ini can be found in the main .mix file in your /SUN folder Using XCC mixer, from there you must learn how to add a unit using Notepad to Edit the .ini files. The .VXL and .HVA files are the image of the unit, this is how it looks in the picture.

being on my campuses web, it appears i have exceeded my registration attempts for now, so i must wait. anyway, i must not have phrased my question properly. all of the other buildings and units i have downloaded from these sites have included lists in their threads, provided by the creators, that listed what you need to add to art.ini and rules.ini to make the unit work. this one has no such list however, so i was wondering whether im missing something

some give example ini code with their units/buildings, which just make some additional stuff (e.g. muzzleflash position;turret position) work.
However in most cases you can use a rules.ini/art.ini entry copy from an original unit.

But if you don't even know what rules.ini and art.ini are (or how to add a unit), i doubt the example code would help you further.

Yeah, every HVA and Voxel has the rules.ini and art.ini in it

i know what the art and rules ini files are, i have successfully added stuff, namely most of ur works lin kuei, which were awesome btw. so i guess since i want to add this tank, the c&c3 mammoth, and the reapermkii tank, i should just copy the files for the hover mlrs? or should i use the old TD mammoth tank files, which i think should be in there since they are usable in the last gdi mission?

You know, when i started modding at like 12 or something, I actually edited the .mix file with Notepad. (to no success) before i finally found out what the hell was going on. Give this guy some credit and a little boost. Anyway, I'M here to help you if you need anything Enigma.
