Changing the Ion Cannon

I know that there are guides for adding animations from Tiberian Dawn to Tiberian Sun, but how do I add the Ion Cannon blast from Tiberian Dawn to Tiberian Sun? Please help me, thank you.

open the TD mixes and search for the ion cannon anim (used further as ICA)
extract the TD ICA
put the ICA in an ecacheXX.mix file (XX=number between 02 and 99)
put this ecacheXX.mix in your TS directory.

open art.ini and search for the TS ICA ([IONBEAM]).
add Image= with the appropriate name of the TD ICA

Do several fine adjustments so the non-"Tiled" TD ICA looks good in TS where it is "Tiled" (e.g. you could remove Tiled=yes from IONBEAM or change the TD ICA so it works when using tiled=yes)

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately I don't have Tiberian Dawn...

Anyway, is it possible to get that animation from Return of the Dawn?

Well, TD is abandonware, you can legally download it anywhere on the net, just google for "Command & Conquer Abandonware" , including the quotation marks (the " " chars). Smile

If that's too much for you to download at once, I'm sure somebody with TD readily available is willing to upload it for you (I don't have TD on this laptop, so).
