Yeah,well,I had some pretty bad days recently,and I had some...personal problems.My parents,in the end,sent me to an psychologist,and...and....

Well,it seems I suffer from depression.It seems I'm a pretty depressed person.Unfortunately.

The tips the doc said were the next:

-Eat better food.
-Have a better program(which is IMPOSSIBLE to achieve)
-Make sport
-Do relaxing things(No electronics here)
-Socialize more(What happens if people don't want to socialize with me?)
-And...well...give up at computer.

...

And therefore,my time has been limited.Very much. Therefore,I'll be spending 3-4 hours a week on the computer.
Therefore I took several decisions:

1.I'm giving up MV.

Yes Albrecht,I'm sorry it happened.Unfortunately,I noticed I'm incapable to finish this work,so I'd better get lost than to torture you.I'll still be trying to finish the last works, after that,if I manage to,I'll be discussing with some guys around.Maybe you'll manage to find somebody around.I'll be sending packs with some stuff of mine,so,in case you guys won't be finding anybody,to learn on your own,and do some better works.

2.I won't be modding too much.

I'll be moving towards Generals, but due to time,I won't be posting updates too often.Still, expect a whole bunch of text, with detailing,so you'll have at least something to read #Tongue

3.I'll work more on some of my private projects, and more misc. work.

4.There is a possibility that NO happy birthday special gift will be present.Just maybe. But don't expect it.Still, hopefully I'll be celebrating my birthday in the new house I'll move to.

That's all.I hope you can read the text, and not get too dissapointed.

In the end,I'll still be lurking around, but not too often, and don't expect too much activity from me.

Alex --Deformat.

Dude.

First of all, start mountain-climbing. Walk one hour at least every day. Do pushups and jump on a rope. Lift weights. Start a sport in school - basketball or football. That's all the physical part you need to undertake.

As for socialising - I had the same problem when I moved to a new school. The answer - I started drinking a few beers, because that way I could have a reason to see other people. And it worked. That's why it's called social drinking Wink

And don't listen to psychologists.

Most things I know about myself came from introspection, not from psychologists. Of course, a psychologist could help me figure out why I lack empathy and pity for other people, but that might deprive me of a career option with the NSA. I wouldn't spend money on someone who shows you inkblots and does word association tests with you.

It's called opening up (double meaning, both yourself and the can).

If you are depressed you are sad, you need to release endorphines. What could release endorphines....

-Removed- I Disagree with the whole drink to socialize thing though. Drinking with the lads is always a laugh, apart from when you get your beer taken away by the police, but that's not how you should learn to be more socialable. Just start getting out the house more, ask some of your friends if you want to do something, meet more people, eventually you have a routine of getting out the house and having fun. Friends are the best cure for depression (Not entirely true in my case though, I find drinking and smoking myself to death is a good cure for when you're feeling down, aye Gosho? #Tongue). Hope you get well soon anyway Kiddo, I know what it's like to suffer from manic depression, had it myself a while ago and they put me on anti-depressants. Not cool man.

I don't like school sports that much either. I didn't get a fake sick note so don't presume Mods did either. Then again, he would have had a valid reason for a REAL sick note. Don't assume, Aro. I thought you were above that.

Having one beer or two (this number can get higher for the more experienced among us Razz ) makes you loosen up a bit. You talk easier. It can often help you get over the "scary social" edge.

You know why stuff in college/university often involves beer? It makes it easier to talk to strangers. Talking to strangers = making new friends.

Making new friends = the first step to a healthy social life.

See, THATS, probably, your problem.

I say probably, as I can't asses your situation without a really detailed post. But... I think its a big deal.

You have to somehow become comfortable with where you live and your environment.

And yes, sometimes, just having ONE beer is just enough to make you a little more confident. You probably won't even feel buzzed, but I bet you nothing that you'll just feel better, unless you don't like booze. I'm not trying to patronize you, please acknowledge that. I'm just trying to offer advice, as I used to feel that way, I still do sometimes.

Also, most people are decent people. Again, I don't know where you're coming from; maybe its a bad neighborhood (bad in the sense that, people are dicks), I dunno.

- - -

What I do to socialize:

First of all, it always makes me feel better when I'm with at least one friend, but when I first moved to my new home...

I usually just stick with simple, but meaningful words. Look 'em in the eye, but not 24/7, try setting a decent posture, but be careful. Before, I used to stand up way too straight, since I'm 6 ft 1, sometimes people would just get pissed off, or at least ridicule me somewhat.

"Huh huuh!! How's the weather up there?!'

"It's raining, fuckhead."
*Spits*

Unfortunately for everyone (but me, and a yeti), the bar flooded, everyone drowned to death, the midgets were first. Then the bar exploded.....

...nah, that never happened, although I've been wanting to use that comeback, if I was to ever get asked that question.

Anyways, I don't walk around with a broomstick up my ass anymore, in fact I only did that like a couple of times, semi-quick learner, when I apply myself.

But definitely don't slouch, especially around girls, I've found that it sometimes can really make a difference.

Before now I always had to widen my eyes; it looked like I was baked all the time.

I even had to adjust my voice. Back in the day, I would get nervous, and my voice became strained and dumb sounding. Got a few laughs outta that. So now I clear my throat (I ztyping HATE YOU FLEM! I SWEAR TO STICK, I'm gonna invent a acidic based substance which will cleanse everything... possibly even burning the throat tissue itself, away... don't worry, I'm working on it)

I now take ztyping HUGE deep breaths, in & out through the nose almost always, out through the mouth occasionally to really vent my lungs. Actually, this may be my most important discovery. My headaches went away! They still come and go, 'cause I'm extremely lazy, so lazy I forget to breath at a rate at which my body can function better. Heh, yeah. If you're still reading this, breath. I guarantee you results, or your time back... will talk about that.

1.Dude. #Tongue
2.Did that. But I don't have the time.School, extra lessons(thanks to parents) plus some other contests at which I was sort of obligated to go reduce my time EXTREMELY much.

To give ya an idea, last wednesday I stood awake from 7:30 in the morning 'till 2:13 in the morning. Useful, quite very.
Walking is done,I walk like 2 hours a day.
Pushups are well...Yeah,maybe if I manage in the morning.
Jumping on a rope, well, what are you trying to do here?Destroy me or help me? #Tongue
Basketball - Nobody does it here.Not even extra lessons.Just karate.And,no,don't ask for...been there,done that.

3.I have to remind I'm underage to drink.I have to recognize I drank alcohol thousands of times, yet I dislike it.I simply dislike it.

Socializing...well,Dominant Hunter,I use to watch people in the eyes, rather carefully and with attention.I use to talk nicely with them.Pretty decent in real life, pretty undecent in the internet life #Tongue

The truth is that the whole country is full of bad people. You don't even know who to trust.People are plain bad, because it gives them satisfaction.I NEVER had such kind of satisfaction.

Other than that...

I'm also tall, and thanks for the fuckhead idea #Tongue

Alex, just relax. Those extra lessons are most likely to blame Wink I find that extra classes always make you unhappy; I do an additional maths class after school (will get me an extra qualification if I pass) and every wednesday I go "Ugh... I can't be bothered..." And nearly go home. If you have more of these I can see the effect on you. Talk to your parents and get them to let you stop doing some of the classes. On top of that search for someone who's at least partially trustworthy, if you find someone like that its a start; they might not be perfect but they're someone you can talk too about small things, and that's always a start.

Walking is a cure for depression, in large quantities it can also cure obesity, chronic unfitness and proximity to idiots.

Alcohol is a social lubricant, but I use beer for problem solving #Tongue If I find something I can't do on a saturday evening one good beer lets me look at it for a different angle and 9/10 I sort the problem, this has solved IEs, crappy voxels, accidentally killing windows and social problems (best friend, his girlfriend and another good friend of mine; it was BAD).

And deformat, if destiny's to blame I'll take over the psychology for him, my mind's screwed already so I won't have a problem with mad thoughts from other people Wink

And MV isn't dead, it's just on ice until may/june time and I stop doing coursework or GCSE revision. #Tongue

Well,I take these extra lessons because the new romanian language teacher is a genuine idiot. That's the reason.

And I'll have to take a exam in May,another 4/6(not known yet) next year + the capacity exam(Which,if I don't pass,I'll be in a screwy situation, and I'll be obligated to go to a school of arts and jobs(which is considered to be inferior.).

Jumping on a rope will make your body much stronger and able to do physical activities for a lot longer.

And you dislike beer because you're doing it wrong. Get a nice, cold, fresh beer and with it get soemthing nice to eat and watch a football match or something. It'll be awesome. Then do that with someone. It'll be awesome. And you'll become friends, voila.

beer (or atleast the ones I have tasted) taste like shit. But if you are drinking for taste, then you are doing it wrong (aka, you drink for the buzz).

The doc basically thinks if you get in shape, you will have more energy, and therefore be happier. If you buy this, then anything will work really, jogging, running walking, rubbing one out, jumping rope, playing a game (aka sport). Personally I like riding a bike.

TBH I really love swimming.Maybe when I'll be having a vacation I'll be grabbing a friend and go to the swimming pool.

I also love football, yet the guys from school are bastards,as they allow me to play ONLY as a goalkeeper.

Eh, swimming is good, I used to swim. Then I got bored and stopped; now I'm a lazy, amoral bastard. You have to ask yourself if there is a connection?

Don't just try any old beer, find yourself a quality brew. Everyone likes a different type and at the age of 14 I wanted beer, be glad you have the opportunity to get it! Anyways, it's a personal preference. Personally I like a good beer to drink; fewer good ones are better than 2 dozen at £0.50 each #Tongue

But the solution is to do what makes you happy, not what we say or a psycho...logist. If making you happy means killing somebody's snowman then so be it, it worked for me last week. #Tongue

In this area (to finally find a girlfriend and be more in contact with friends - this is now possible just via ICQ because of school) I feel kinda like a n00b although I don't have problem to talk with normal people (so not with jagged hip-hopper) #Silly

In that age I was visiting a psychologist, too. Because of anger... #Mad #Cussing out Well, sometimes I feel pretty much depressed, so I start doing something or listen a music (this helps to get your mood up*). Wink
And I don't do much sport, I just don't use public town/city transport when I can go less than 45 minutes on my own, sometimes I ride the bike, sometimes I play football** or go to swim with my friends, I was going to waterman's summer camp, later I began taking summer jobs, which were pretty hard, hard mindless work by hands (picking peaches - only think on this causes me itching on hands and neck, never more for so little money; picking cukes - next only on OUR garden; builder - making cement mortar, going with debris, bringing bricks, work with small air hammer - not very good on lungs, good on muscles, normal pay), when I will have normal work in IT, I will need at least garden... For me, ANYTHING with alcohol is good, 13% BEERS KICK HEADS!

Nah, I'm joking, I've never encountered a beer that strong.

@Deformat: Hmm, sounds crappy. Are the people truly that bad? Were do you live anyways?

I used to think the entire town hated me/thought I was an idiot; I eventually figured out that I was just really paranoid, mainly because I still wasn't used to weed.Very Happy

-Psychologists are bad.
-Beer is good.It creates relationships.

I have to remind ya guys that the problem is that I don't have the right to drink beer. For Christ's sake.
I'm a too nice guy to do this XD

Like I said Alex, be happy. You don't have to drink beer, do sport or give up your computer. In fact doing some of those might make you unhappier. You have to mess around with what you do in life and see what works for you, if it's a non-stop orgy of booze and girls then ok, if it's a refined life of classy literature and big armchairs then so be it, and if it's a life of sloth, greed and C&C modding then go for that. The piont I'm trying to make is, (to quote Guns n' Roses)
"It don't really matter
Gonna find out for yourself
No, it don't really matter "

Go for it; find what makes you happy, find it for yourself, not for anyone else. Wink
