How do you make a ion cannon tank?

i need a tutorial on how to create a tank <image and all> that can shoot an ion cannon without charging and another tutorial on how to make a superweapon that shoots the lightning from an ion storm.

1 is possible, 2 is not... I actually did write a tutorial for your first question, here on these forums, I'll look for it if I get time.

2. you can replace the IonCannon Warhead to the one from ion storm... but this means bye bye to ion cannon.

Warning - Novice modder (sorta) - Couldn't you just create a new SuperWeapon based on the Ion Cannon that uses the Ion Storm Warhead?

all superweaps are hardcoded

however drop pods was also hardcoded, but just not (properly) .ini coded in TS

in FS they cheaply and quickly got the unused threat rating node plug image and called it Drop Pod node
and enabled the drop pod logic (that already exsisted in TS)

if u copy the coding from the frstrm.ini to the rules.ini, tada you have fully operational drop pods in normal TS

like many other things, why WW decided to not include this great feature in normal TS is a mystery but at least it can be fully enabled

P.S. I dunno ur modding experiance SnakeMan but ill assume u got a rough idea of ini coding cause i cant be bothered writting a tutorial.
to make a unit have Ion Cannon as its weap, simply create a new weapon, invisible projectile (airburst etc) and give it IonCannonWH as its warhead

i know how you could make a ion storm strike ability, but you would need to make the animation of a ion storm bolt yourself, if you had one of them, the it would be easy.
