Subject description: My game crashes at the splash screen
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

I recently installed Command & Conquer 3 on my computer, patched it right away, then when i try to run the thing, it crashes at the splash screen. (Windows message: Command & Conquer 3 has stopped working)

I'm running Windows Vista home Premium Service Pack 1(64 bit), DirectX 10 and updated my Nvidia Drivers just a minute ago(which didn't solve the problem) Hardware acceleration is enabled.

I tried googling the problem, but I only get outdated crap.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Seems that TW has some problems with a 64bit OS, it's not made for this.
Still, it seems to work for some. You should have the newest patch 1.09 installed. You might want to set it to XP compatibility mode, but I guess that's not necessary (runs fine on V32). However, make sure that you have Direct X9 installed, DX10 is not compatible!

It might be a good idea to try contacting the customer support, though perhaps they might refuse to answer as V64 is not officially supported.

Maybe I'll try what Golan said, downgrading my DX to 9.0, and then see what happens.
Pretty wierd, Red Alert 3 runs completely smooth on the highest graphic settings.
Damn you, Electronic Arts, Bring a patch that does support DX 10 FFS!!!!

DX9 and 10 are seperate, just install 9...
DirectX 1-9 are one program, DX10 is actually independant.
