sad news from Filefront,

Dear FileFront User:

We regret to inform you that due to the current economic conditions we are forced to indefinitely suspend the FileFront site operations on March 30, 2009. If you have uploaded files, images or posted blogs, or if you would like to download some of your favorite files, please take this opportunity to download them before March 30th when the site will be suspended.

We would like to give a warm thank you to all of you who have been part of the FileFront communities we have built together. Your support has had a meaningful impact for all of us here at FileFront. Again, we want to give you a sincere “thank you” for your support over the years and wish you all the very best.

I liked Fileplanet better...

Just kidding. Surprised there wasn't any news up on PPM's news area about it...I mean it was a great source for all C&C Related patches and the mirror of several good mods...

I wish it was, I've heard word from a bunch of people in the upper levels of Filefront that they have been dismissed (Laid off if you want to call it that.) already, and their moderation rights revoked, even the Co-owners rights was revoked.

However, Filefront has recently announced that they will close on march 30th due to finantial problems, which is really a pitty, since they were great partners with Command & Conquer and Battle For Middle Earth franchises.

after reading that and having my connection refused by the ftp server I have sent an inquiry to the staff member who set me up with that ftp. Hopefully this is horrible April fools joke.

It is not a joke.

The owners of Filefront, Ziff Davis Media, has gone bankrupt with the current economic crisis. They sold all their online sites to UGO, except for Filefront, because UGO was not interested on it.
