Hello users, i mading this tutorial because i see much maps that... errr how i can say?... they are not much "planned" and then i making this for much users that have problems with maps or get confused, soo even Illo will can made good maps with that tutorial! ^_^

Anyway, i will make different topics to make different steps (every with it own difficult level ^_^) they are:

(*) one star : very basic
(**) two stars: basic
(***) 3 stars: intermediate
(****) 4 stars: advanced
(*****) 5 stars: kick-ass difficult (need much work and all)

step 1: basic tools (that one) * ONE DIFFICULT STAR
step 2: ( i still don't know what will be the next step... still thinink)

--the basic things to make a map:

1-Final Alert2 or yr(i doesn't matter!)
2-have free-time!
3-relax, don't spend all your time in maps because you can get bored faster(like all others modding forms)
4-and remember to disable the basic tools to find more advanced ones! (options-- beginner mode)

Interface:

1-Ground: thoses are the terrain options for place in your map... they are:

2-Change Owner- that will select from what house is the building you are placing, in multi-maps, all buildings are from civilians!

3-Infantry-there you can select what infantry you want and put him in the map!

4Vehicles-here you canb select units and place then in the map (naval units are there too, soo place then in water!)

5-Aircraft-here are all aircrafts(yes, the missiles are aircrafts too!) is the same as the units!

6-Buildings- here you will found all buildings in the game, you can select a section and place where you want!

7-Allied- here is the allieds buildings in game!
8-soviet- here are all soviets buildings!
9 yuri (YR only) - here are all yuri buildings the the yuri's revenge game!
10-Other - here are all civilian buildings and others that appears in some missions (psychic amplifier,etc...)

11-terrain objects- here we can found some things that can be important for map styles and ore!

12-trees- here are all the trees, all of then have a specific theather!
13-Traffic Lights- just trafic lights okay?
14- signs- just signs for use in streets,etc...
15- light posts- for use in urban places,etc...

16- ore mine- that can be the most important thing in your map, thats ore mines are the ones who spawn ore around they, making your recouses eternal! O_o

17-they are some objects!

last ones:

-Smudges - thoses burned areas and crashes!

-Special/overlay- ore/gems, bridges, walls and a tool to erase thosdes things that can't be deleted by the "delete objects" tool!!!

-Waypoints - can representate where some action will happen or even the basics players positions!

-Celltags - normally they are used to trigger actions if something enter in the cell where the celltag is!

-Base Nodes - used in single player maps where choose where the AI will build "the" building

-Player locations - self explanatory isn't?

-Delete objects - used for delete buildings ore drillers, units,etc... but not ore/gems

last lesson - are you seeing that "X" ??? there are two things there:

-Terrain/ground- here are the cliffs, shores, slopes, etc...
-overlay & Special- here we found: rocks, bridge parts and others (that area don't have much things to use!)

Okay, now just rest the tools in the top of the final alert box i will list the more important ones:

-Switch to framework mode- that mode is crucial to you maps don't get any error, in it you can view you map by otherrs eyes and detect problems (shore problems or cliffs)

Raise/lower single field- thoses two tools will raise or lower a single field (only one cell) but then you can select the brush size to double or triple the area of effect!!

Brush size: that selects the size of effect of the selected object (ground types, ore/gems , and even some of the tools in the top of the box of final alert!!!

Heighten/lower ground (slope logic) - very self- explanatory isn't?

Okay now, you just know all basic tools in final alert 2 and final alert 2 yr ^_^ now, just wait for the next step of my tutorial (will be released as soon as possible)

Thanks to the creator of final alert for that great tool and for westwood!

oh yeah, here is your star for learn that: ---------> * <---------

Whoa just hang on a sec shadow hunter

before you go onto step 2, you could do this one abit better

Format it better, maybe colour code the text, use bold etc... at the moment its just a mass of text

and life gufu said, check ur grammar/spelling.... starting with the fricking title "Mading MP and SP maps step 1"

P.S. Dont make individual threads for each "Step", think about it... a person needing to read "Step 1" is most likely going to have to read all the following steps, and I doubt they are gunna want to search through the forums to find them
