I was wondering how i would have to draw the add-ons if i wanted to make them available in RA2.

If anyone has any specific info on how the shps have to be drawn so the addon gets placed correctly over the main structure, please elaborate.

You might want to ask MooMan, he did it in his mod *a parabomb upgrade center for the Korean radar/airpad thingy*

hmm... you draw your Building (size e.g 96x96) then you draw your Upgrade on a different image but with the same size as the first image, then on your second pic, you draw exactly where you want the Upgrade to appear. Well that's what i think how it works... check the attached pic and you know what i mean...

I don't think so...theres only one(?) upgrade shps for the 2 upgrade building...and theres a plug/upgradeOfset=x,x,x tag somewhere I think...
