Im guessing it would probably be time consuming but would it be possible to combine these 3 files together to make 1 big file, of course going thru to make sure to take out all duplicates. Combine all3 rules.ini together and all 3 art.ini together and so forth? Thought i'd see if someone knew before wasting massive amount of time for nothing...

Why would anyone want to do that?

No, not really. it'd leave a great big fuckup for each game.

Well because take RA2 Rules.ini for example in order to use a new vehicle you have to add all the information to the file anyway, vehicle info to rules, artwork to art.ini, cameos and such, but if all in one place wouldnt have to worry about it unless of course you need to add a newly created vehicle..

If you want to mod generals, all the coding for the specific unit is in one ini. So it's basically a combined rules and art.

Except theres a seperate ini for the command bar, any command buttons you wish to add, and of course any new weapon would be in a seperat ini.

I would suggest you move to Generals because alot of the things you seem to be doing are possible in that game, without any tricky coding.

Genwals has too many INI files. Way too easy to forget something and make the game wet itself.

100 units bug is a limitation of the original YR executable.

Later versions of Rockpatch, all versions of NPatch and Ares (still under development) all fix this.

Besides, one of the big questions I have for anyone "encountering" the 100 units bug, why do you have so many things in your mod? Surely, there can't be that many unit possibilities and have it work from a design standpoint.

I mean, look at all the "great" RTS games. They don't have 38+ kinds of ground units per faction. Or 14 different kinds of aircraft. So how does having that much work and why?

/random detour rant

Npatch fixes the 100 unit bug?

anyways. i just keep my ini files in zip folders. if i want it, i just drag it out and it gets copied.
