it's that shiny because of the colors you are using on the palette. if you use darker colors it wont turn out as ridiculously bright. try and mess around with some of the other browns and yellows to see varied results.

yeah change the color of your voxel to other colors, the normals for RA2 really do ruin the look of most voxels unfortunately

Which is why I prefer TS - except for the annoying limitations.
Just choose colours lower in the spectrum. That'll fix it about as far as can be done without custom, handpainted normals.

oh, ok thank you, another question?? i donno if i can post it here or make a new post, i see that i can draw my textures in paint but, when i put them to my voxel, the color changes, 4 example in paint i draw it in dark green and when i put it to my voxel it is only black, is there a way that i can do my textures better, i donno maybe a custom pallete for the vse or something

Whenever I fiddle around the texture/colour of my voxels I either use the editor itself, or save a texture and reopen it in the GIMP.
The colours always conform to the palette, so any colour not in VXLSE is unusable.
If you import a texture for the voxel then you may need to fix the colours, especially for remap (202 swaps with 22, 203 with 23, etc.)

I haven't personally looked into using custom palettes with VXLSE, but IIRC only SHPs can have alternative palettes (Don't quote me on this, I really don't know)

A crude way, but since you are using MSPaint and pixel editing anyways, it suits your present methods fine.

1. Take a screenshot by printscreen (there is a button on the keyboard for this) of the palette from VXLSEIII
2. Open up MSPaint (since that is what you are using), and paste it.
3. Crop it to just the palette's colours
4. Copy paste this palette into the texture BMP you are using for the VXL
5. Texture the voxel, but only use the same colors of the pasted palette (use the eye drop tool to get the colours)
6. After texturing, delete palette and crop the texture BMP back into the original, leaving nothing changed but colours.

This will reduce or stop the errors as the colours values will be exaclty the same of ones already on the palette.

NOTE: You will have to write down the original size of the texture BMP, so you can do step 6

voxels can have custom palletes, it screws up the normal locations though, makes them look all funky (iirc makes them orange and blue and pink in most cases) you can fix this, i believe raminator knows how (dont quote me on this either) but i believe there is a little tutorial of it in the Derelict Soil forums... check if anyone's interested /end offtopic

PS: someone should probably make an actual tut on how to perform the pallete editing for voxels
