Supermarine spitfires, sorry there aren't any screenies but my TFD has been confiscated (read as: stolen). So if you want any better screenies than my beta ones you'll have to do them yourself, and if the props don't work, I'm trying to fix it, ok?

Sorry if there are bugs but I like to have a rapid rate of voxel production.
And I'd appreciate it if someone did me some ingames.

I double-sized them and I really need to smooth out the edges...

I see now... try to make them larger yourself - that allows to make them neater when made smaller.

originally they were tiny, I had to x2 size them but then they were too big so I edited the bounds and now I'll just work on smoothing out the edges.

The colour scheme looks just a bit too dark. Make the green camo pattern lighter and you'll take care of the colours. Also, I think the tail should be a bit longer; it looks kind of stubby right now.

lighter green, loger tail... got it; busy ATM tho. I've got homework by the Shipload and I'm working on another voxel as well. How it will turn out, we'll see... But the spitfires will get a makover soon.

And lease try them yourself, the screenshot doesn't do them justice as my TFD is... temporarily unavailable, lets say

Don't double size, it makes stuff look like crap.

Just keep the original size, and use them for TS
(if they're even big enough for that...)

The voxel is bigger than it looks, I should really change the bounds so it looks it... and I've already started work on making it better; I just need my TFD back to see what it looks like ingame.

So far I have:
~Added more voxels in corners/on curves to make it look sleeker.
~lowered the cockpit by one row as it looked too much like a hawker hurricaine for me.
~Lengthened the tail.

Now I just need to=
~Change the bounds
~make the camo lighter

Here is my Mk.V, I hope it gives you some ideas for your Mk.IX.

Yes Migeater, I have been following D-day, I know about your Migfect voxels, but I'm a newb s I'm allowed to screw up or I won't learn...

And if you put them next to each other mine will look even worse [sarcasm]and I'll have to run off to scotland (urgh..) and plot to destroy the world,[/sarcasm] god I over-react sometimes...

My current versoin is better but I've learned a valuable lesson "Don't screw around wit the freaking bounds!!!!"

EDIT, SARCASM MARKS ADDED

Hmmm... I do sound a little grumpy back there, I'm not tryin to be but next time I need to remember the [sarcasm] markers; I'll add them in.

And Thanks for the help migeater, but could you remove the link to allow people a few minuites to stop drooling over D-day? Thanks; it's just I don't want this to go off-topic and get locked.

Your textures need to be more metallic and you need smoother edges. I'd also darken them a bit.

Pretty nice for your first couple of tries. Keep learning dude.

Thx Gosho, you too migeater.
So now I'm told the textures need to be more metallic and darker.
The edges are sorted, I just need to fix the bound and I'll post it up (still no C&C cds, or my TFD...).

Here they are; and I've added a Spitfire PR IX (photo-reconnisance, anyone with enough world war two knowledge will know what this means for the colour scheme, those of you who don't can download it and see!).

And the greens are 173-175.

The cockpit is lower, it's bigger, the tail is longer and it has a propeller (although the bleedin' thing won't turn! goddamit!!!).

that's remap... I was playing as blue!!!! stupid thing to say...

Not the same, bigger; has prop, longer tail, smoother lotsa stuff; now get the hell off of my thread, or say something that's relavant as
"ugly
and the same
also has blue if you are attent"
Is neither easily understandable or helpful.
And show me a spitfire V/IX voxel of yours that's better if you're such an expert!

They are the green 170-175 colours, the only others on the pallete I can see are the horrible neon ones he was talking about! And if you're gonna post at least use an account and not guest post!

And I didn't ignore migeater, he's an excellent voxeler and I respext him for his work, but the fact is I'm not using the freaking neon greens!

Banshee, please stop guests from posting in my threads; it's getting annoying! And tell this guy, get an account or go away!!!

That's very disrespecful of the poor guest Confused He's trying to tell you what most people think (green is not a good colour to use) and you complain that he's a guest? You have no right to control whether guests post here or not, and changing the topic title is discriminatory and wrong.

Seriously, build a bridge and get over it.

He's got a point there. Just because they're guests doesn't mean their opinions shouldn't be voiced. Why else would guest posting be allowed?

Back on topic, I think the green is fine if its the best you can do, perhaps look in TS and see how the greens come out?

RA2 always seemed too bright to me Laughing

"Then them neon ones" granted, not hugely correct with the grammar, but he meant the non-neon green ones.
Although, you are using the right greens, you could still go darker.
You could use with more variation in the colours, to add some detail and texture.
Also, most of your voxel, at least texture and detail wise still shows the 2x2 style due to the enlargement.
The tail is still 4 pixels wide, which is a bit much.
Some outlining of various details, like the cockpit with dark lines could also help define your details more.
And your smoothing could be improved, noticably around the wings.

And some guest posting here can be useful, hence why its still allowed here. There was no need to jump on that single guest-post when it was trying to offer constructive critism.
And it wasn't Secret, either, who actually does have an account.

Either way, sort out your attitude. Don't post up voxels for public, unless you are willing to hear critism.

Thanks Anderwin, I'm a bit busy ATM with a new project people may/may not have guessed by something I posted yesterday; the spitfires will have to be put on hold, at least for the time being...

They'll be worked on later anyways; thanks everyone for comments and suggestions.

The 170-175 colours are the “neon greens” I was talking about, 122-127 or 75-79 are a lot better for this sort of thing.

Sorry to say this but the spitfire is a pretty common voxel & so far your one is under par with the rest so it’s no surprise that you’re getting so much criticism. You can either ignore it tho or use it, it’s up to you but I suggest listening to what ppl have to say.

I've only ever (counting your variants as one) seen three spitfires, one was micro; the other was said to look like a fish and the third was yours and beats all of them; ah well, maybe I'll give up on the spitfire and do something else.

And in case no-one's noticed the little text at the top there is a D)17/JU88 hidden in the spitfire pack in a hidden folder.

Anderwin, please use this to replace the old version, it's only a bit better but at least it'll stop me from projectile vomiting onto my screen.

if it isn't circled by blue, yes. So that's the stripes on the wings and the markings on the rear body and tail.
