1 - Coding looks fine. I recommend you to put the art files in an ecache*.mix, where "*" represents any string.
(it is widely thought that this works like an expand, but this is not the case - see http://modenc.renegadeprojects.com/MIX )
As for the modified INIs, artmd.ini and rulesmd.ini for you, I recommend you to put them in any expandmdXX.mix, where XX is any number except for the reserved ones, see http://modenc.renegadeprojects.com/Reserved_Mix_Files for which numbers NOT to use.

2 - Laser Fences don't work in Ra2/yr anyways.
Ares/RockPatch 2 has this feature, but it is not released yet. All you can do is a poor emulation with wall logic, or join all the many modders eagerly awaiting Ares #Tongue

idk you could replicate without power down, just make the fences look like laser fence but yeah other than that it won't work

The ecache and expand thing didnt work for me, but found a way to do it. I'm not sure why you guys are saying it dont work in RA2 but I have it working just fine, for what i know of. not quite sure how it originally works cause i dont play TS just have it installed for .ini and .mix files. here is a few pics from RA2

They do look like they may need to be resized though thats about it.

Tiberian Sun:
-laser fences built automatically once two fence posts are placed parallel
-once a fence pot is destroyed laser fences connected to it are also destroyed, adjacent posts maintain health, however

Um No! My laser fences are not built in sections, they are built by 2 adjacent posts, and they Do power down when having low power. and they will kill whoever is brave enough to encounter them......Also the posts are sellable and destroyable, fences will disappear when either sold or destroyed.

What do you mean by that? there are no patches for RA2 that I know of except going from ver 1.01 to ver 1.06 and I'm running ver 1.06

I believe he's referring to NPatch and Ares.

Anyway, why not share the code if everything all works correctly? I can guarantee that some people will find this useful (even though I've seen threads about laser fence post logic hundreds of times).

Laser Fences always worked in RA2 AFAIK, it was the YR 1.001 patch that broke them (and that most people now mod).
