RA3 1.11 patch
Subject description: EA fucks it up big time...
EA has released a patch for RA3. It is a huge patch, fixing exploits and is supposed to balance the game. I have read the list, and I think EA really has fucked it up big time. Lemme explain with some examples:
• Due to the recent downturn in the global economy, all Super Weapons are now half price.
WTF??? EA, what did you smoke? Superweapons that are already unstoppable and even half the price? This is stupid.
• Soviet Apocalypse Tank grinder damage halved.
One of the few nice things about the Apoc has been killed now...
• Soviet structures will no longer refund 100% of their cost if canceled after taking damage. Refund value reduction is equivalent to the damage taken by the building.
Ehm, why? Ain't you supposed to get all your money back when canceling something you build?
• Soviet Super Power Plant energy production reduced to 350 from 500.
Yeah, instead of increasing the Allied Power Plant power output, you just decrease the power output of the large powerplant. Great one EA.
• Japan Point Defense Drones now have an expiration time of 2 minutes.
This makes this one of the few nice Japanese special abilities quite useless... Now it's just a temporary armour boost.
• Fixed a bug that allowed Soviet players to cash bounty their own deployed MCV and then get a refund by selling it.
WTF² This 'exploit' is used in the RA3 Uprising Commander Challenge Speed Corner as a main tactic to get that extra cash you need for those tactics. EA is ztyping up their own tactics, ain't that great?
Yes, I know there are way many more things, and even some good stuff (like Oil Derricks exploding when destroyed), but these so called 'balances and fixes' make me dislike EA even more.
Dutchy rant out. QUICK_EDIT
This is why I don't buy anything other than multiplayer based FPSs from EA. _________________ Comcast: Yo dawg we herd yo were downloading, so we put fail in yo modem so yo cant download while yo failin! QUICK_EDIT

Keep in mind that this applies only to superweapons, not ultimate weapons. You also must have failed to read this part:
• Soviet Iron Curtain now requires the Battle Lab to be built.
• Allied Chronosphere now requires the Defense Bureau to be built.
Cost reduced, bumped up to Teir 3. Sounds like a fair change to me.

Maybe so, but the problem was that people were only ever using it on grinder mode, which absolutely crushed any hope of the Allies or Empire ever getting out ground forces late-game. This change forces people to swap between the grinder and cannons, which are actually extremely powerful.

This is actually a very important fix to the dreaded 'Tesla Push'. People would construct a crane, roll up their MCV to the enemy's base, and plonk down a couple of Tesla Coils. While it is completely possible to destroy the Tesla Coils while they build up, the player would often wait until they were at red health, and them simply cancel them for a full refund. Then they would put down another tesla coil, and repeat all over again, until the enemy got worn down, and the base would be full of Tesla Coils.

Again, simply another deterrent to the Tesla Push.

It's still an exploit, regardless. _________________
