RPs are sorta like the Chain Story, only one person controls the plot of it (The person who starts the thread. If that person has to leave, people generally agree on someon else to move the plot along). You're also only supposed to control your own char., in general. Posts only tend to be a paragraph long, and there's a lot. A couple RPs I've been in have over 500 posts. QUICK_EDIT
Dungeons(sp?) and dragons - which was and still is, a RPG board game. Also games such as Baldur's Gate and NWN use advanced D&D rules (more complicated ones). QUICK_EDIT
Very expensive if you ask me 40 bucks for a rule book 12, for dice, 6 for character sheets, 50 for a character book, 20 for weapon book, and 30 for a monster book. That's why I play online. _________________

Dungeons and Dragons is a pen and paper RPG. Basically, you make characters similar to the way you do it in RPG games like NWN, then someone (The Dungeon Master) creates an adventure that you go through with the character. Fighting and using skills (Ie. convincing a peasent to tell you information) is done by rolling dice.
The way an RP works is a bit different, though. In general, one person (Not everyone like the chain story) is in charge of the story, while everyone else only controls their character (Or characters), which means it's generally smaller posts. Some RPs I've been in were up to 400 posts before the story really even got started. THe basic rules are not to RP someone else's character (Ie., if your character is having a conversation with another one, you'd just post what your character says, and the other person would post their character's response), and not to change the story any (if you're not the person who started the thread). The only problem with an RP, that I can foresee, is that it's hella long. It'd probably last a few months, assuming no breaks like we had with the chainstory. QUICK_EDIT
Next question, does this involve the Tiberuim universe, what factions are involved, what time period are we talkin' about, and has anybody decided on a plot for this thing yet!?
I'll be GDI Field Commander Maj. Jeremy Garcia, leader of the US southwestern theatre if you'd like. In short, I'd command AZ, NM, and CA of the US and Sonora Mexico...perhaps. D'oh, we don't even have a story yet, I'll decide on a character later. QUICK_EDIT
yeah this is probobly dead by now (3 months?) but are you actually going to do it? _________________ That acting was so bad I think you gave me Cancer...
