What features in 3ds max 2010 do i need to know in order to start making a non-commericial movie? nothing serious i want to make prob 30 to an hours worth of movie i just want to know what i need to practice learning on in 3ds max so that i don have to spend time getting to learn a feature that im not even gonna use

3DS Max is for making 3D models and not for making movies.

There's a problem with Max 9 using these shaders. Specifically the Default w3d shaders. When applied as an animated shader for use with i.e. (Tank Tracks), the texture is not visible in max viewport and niether in the w3x viewer. there's no error report in max 9. The exporter plugin exports the max file to w3x format finely but the texture/shader for the tank tracks is not. Anybody found out about this yet?
