Ok, I recently got RA3, and I want to try modding it. Yet I have a few questions.

One, How hard is it, I know RA2/TS modding, and I heard horror stories from TW modders.

Two, What programs do I need? I know RA3 and the SDK, I heard I need 3Dmax or something. I have blender, will that work?

Three, Is there a RA3/TW version of PPM? As PPM is a Strongly 2D CnC site with A General Mod and A TW mod.

Bollocks, it ain't anymore difficult than TS/RA2, it's simply different.

You need the SDK and a texteditor for coding.
2D editing requires a program that supports either .tga or .dds (i.e. Photoshop should be your first choice).
3D editing requires 3DS9. No other version will do. There aren't any exporters for other programs, including blender. If you have some spare time, you could write one yourself though.

That last one is basically the direction of a RA3/TW modding site as active as PPM.

PPM is also targetted at 3D C&C modding, but it has not attracted any RA3 mods yet.

With no 3Dmax, I have to rely on the kindness of strangers, and my hot blood.

Currently trying to put the Titan from the TW forum here into RA3

When I get skilled, I would like to attempt to get the first RA3 mod here.
