Red Alert: A New Era
Subject description: A Red Alert 1 mod
Working name, suggest one if you have one.
Yeah, Red Alert 1, classics are always the best but this isn't exactly classic; I intend to combine it somewhat with C&C graphics. Since I now have FRAPS (not full version so somewhat limited) I can take proper screenies and videos. While since everything can't just trasfer this is going to be a partial conversion, and I do not intend to whipe away all the Soviet and Allied stuff even if I could.
I am going to need a little help from some people:
Someone with time on their hands to convert all the blue allied forces in the campaign to gold (I can show you how to just need people to do it since there are 50 or so missions)
SHPer that can make a C&C style advanced power plant in RA dimensions.
SHPer to make a tib mine (tib tree is too tall) so I can add tib in while i'll still keep gems as bonus unless same person can make blue tib.
More people make be coming but send me a message if you can help
Meanwhile, I need concepts so I know where to start, some stuff that cannot or will not be done are:
Airstrike
Ion Cannon/Nuke
T. Coil to Obelisk (trust me, it would be utter crap due to T. Coil's logic)
Sidebars
Eva
Ore Truck -> tib harvester (might change name and icon tho)
Orca (unless you want a rotor or rotorless choppers)
All warheads (more WHs in TD then RA)
Flamers (Flame WH is used by many more units)
New terrain (besides Tib mine/Tib)
SSM Launcher
Some changes to normal RA:
Tanya, due to some WH changes is too OP (with SA WH) and will be removed from Skirmish/MP
Theif, Stupid unit, most likely being removed
Revamping tech trees for balance (Sam to allied etc)
More if needed
This is mainly a graphics mod since I no one can play a ligit skirmish in TD (tho can get close thanks to the patch)
If someone could help, id like a banner with ingame TD mixed with RA units (or just TD ingame is fine)
Oh and one VERY Important thing:
This mod is not compadible with RA version 3.03 and higher, sorry QUICK_EDIT
Right. And probably most of them need a little balancing, like GDI Jumpet Infantry (or whatever it was called).
@Darkstorm: Hmmm, remember about Medic! He needs some balance fixes, too. BTW, can "healing weapon" be cell-ranged? Then you could use it, or eventually make ROF faster (or rather faster ROH x-D). _________________ QUICK_EDIT
When I was at school and used to play this in class I did a little mod for it. Just increased ore growth, made medics useful (they cost like 800 by default), stuff like that. Was pretty fun (very infact ). QUICK_EDIT

wait, you're using fraps screenshots to make C&C1 shps into RA1 shps??
I'm not sure how well C&C1 shp converts to RA1 but heck, there's got to be better ways than what you're doing.. why not just use shp builder to get the frames? _________________ The Fall of Hammerfest - Epic Tiberian chain story

oh, okay.. yeah I misunderstood you, like, a LOT.
for some reason I thought you were reassembling the C&C1 shps frame by frame by using the video software, then changing the blue allied remap to gold so that it'll register as remap in the .shp's
