Is it a bad version or is it just impossible to run on Windows Vista? _________________ Comcast: Yo dawg we herd yo were downloading, so we put fail in yo modem so yo cant download while yo failin! QUICK_EDIT
While I can't say why Vista is an awful excuse for an OS, I can say it might be worth getting Windows 7 or Windows XP. I got multi-boot, so I'm not OS prejudice. But Vista still is an awful excuse for an OS, nothing but problem after problem..... Have you tried running FA2 in compatibility mode? Also sometimes vista will only let you run certain applications if your logged in as an admin. Hopefully that helped. If not, Download an OS,there are free OS's Install it on a flash drive, external harddrive, or partion. Then boot up your computer on it, and run fa2 on that. If you ussing a laptop, you cannot use a harddrive or flashdrive most of the time though. _________________ Grab my Map Logic Expansion Pack 5.2 here!

FA2
This one works for me on Vista. Download it and run as admin. I have all RA2/Yuri Editing tools in their own special folder label Utilities.
As for using a laptop, I am currently using Flash-drives and an external Hardrive to run the game and Utility programs _________________ I am authorized to send out the TMP Studio, PM ME IF YOU WANT IT And check this out, these were sent to me for help with terrain and zdata help along with TMP Studio/Builder

FA2
And to show that I am using Vista and FA2 you can look at some the terrain pics of new tiles that I have posted on here. _________________ I am authorized to send out the TMP Studio, PM ME IF YOU WANT IT And check this out, these were sent to me for help with terrain and zdata help along with TMP Studio/Builder
Apex, if you end up with that particular error, download the application again. Sometimes, for whatever reason, the download is interrupted and it finishes early or improperly, and you get that wonderful not a valid Win32 application.
I would download and run it again. Since it's Vista, you do have to run as admin to actually run it, but to be safe, do the same on install.
Hence, ignore EricAnimeFreak since he doesn't even have half a clue. QUICK_EDIT
Well reinstalling did work. I feel stupid for not trying in the first place... Thanks for the help. _________________ Comcast: Yo dawg we herd yo were downloading, so we put fail in yo modem so yo cant download while yo failin! QUICK_EDIT
You should use something like regmon and filemon to work out what its trying to access that the current user doesn't have permissions to and give them those permissions rather than just running as admin if you want to do this the right way BTW and not have to elevate every time you run it. QUICK_EDIT
I don't have a problem with permissions. UAC is disabled and I logon as admin. I've been able to save maps and run them without any problems/glitches. _________________ Comcast: Yo dawg we herd yo were downloading, so we put fail in yo modem so yo cant download while yo failin! QUICK_EDIT
