Another 3dsmax problem

Hello to u all, i wish u a nice evening.
I use 3dsmax to import the 3D Models from 3dRipperDX. My Problem is the Model which i've imported is wrong placed and have wrong sizes (look @frame on Pic 1)
It have to be like the second image (Frame on Pic 2).
The Problem is , after the conversion via 3ds2vxl the center of model is totally deplaced. (Pic 3) So the Model rotates arround the wrong point.
I dont know how i can fix that, with Pivot in 3dsmax i cant remove the error.

And thats the Problem, the Model rotates arround the wrong point and the Bounds are giant (like 500,300,400) independant from the size in 3dsmax

When something like that happens go to edit mesh and select verticals with all verts selected on the model. rotate the model to fit the direction of the box in the main view port.. that's how I do it anyways. and I've gotten pretty good at eyeballing stuff. #Tongue

from there go to hierarchy and effect pivot only, select center to object or do it manually (blue arrow should point up though)

Personally I just create a new box (anything works, though), turn it into an editable poly, attach to it the troubling piece(s) of the model, erase the box, and then center the pivot to the object, as Damned Machine said. It helps when your model is perfectly aligned, and you don't want to alter that.

How do you create a new box ? or even attach it for that matter.. I could never select it, just the model :S

Thank u very much for all the answers, i tryed with the solution of mashine, but i do not exactly know how this works, can u make a screenshot with the steps that i have to do?
@crevio yes this is the model, but the model is not the important thing here, i just wanna know how i can fix this problem because i have it on many other models. (3DRipperDX extractions)

I have captured a small video for you. But you should know some basics about max, or it will not be very helpful.

You should do this for every single part of the model and after you have done this, never scale the model again or you have to do it all over again.

Ok thats really easy how i see ^^ I have'nt seen the button attach ^^
Ok I will try to fix the problem this evening, i'm @work and i dont have the model here.

EDIT: OK now it works perfectly ^^
I have to thank u all for the great help ^^
If i have all Models from Ra3 and CnC3 converted to vxl i will upload these here ^^
A last question i have. If i convert the 3ds to vxl i have several red pixels in the tank, they are housecolorpixels, can i prevent this? Its possible that i have to edit the texture-picture (convert colors of it)???
