Yuri Terrain Committee
Subject description: Are you interested?
Well, I have made it known that I have been working on terrain items, Crevio has some post on the subject. I've seen bits and pieces of people doing some work. Does anyone want to forum a group so we can expand the terrain tiles??
At the current time I am working on Urban Settings, I plan to convert some of my work over to the Temperate Settings and then maybe some work with Desert and Snow Settings.
BTW: This for serious Yuri modding, not lame attempts at modding. Interested? Nikademis_Von_Hisson@live.com that is email, windows messenger and myspace page email _________________ I am authorized to send out the TMP Studio, PM ME IF YOU WANT IT And check this out, these were sent to me for help with terrain and zdata help along with TMP Studio/Builder

requests
well, you could post a request for something to be made. Maybe someone could make some thing. But what the post is basically for....Instead of having a million and one new mix files with new terrain pieces everyone would send their files to me and I would make the mix file. Things to be sent would be, what setting it is for, the terrain file, the ini rules and their name/website, what ever so when I post up the file all people who contributed get the proper credit _________________ I am authorized to send out the TMP Studio, PM ME IF YOU WANT IT And check this out, these were sent to me for help with terrain and zdata help along with TMP Studio/Builder

update
Well, this would be an update in a way. I would create a new mix file named expandmd07.mix. This would be for new pieces sent to me. BTW this would be an unofficial file. Hoping it would be considered when the official expansion would be released. I believe DJBreit, Blade, and Marshall are in charge of that. _________________ I am authorized to send out the TMP Studio, PM ME IF YOU WANT IT And check this out, these were sent to me for help with terrain and zdata help along with TMP Studio/Builder
DJBreit, Blade and Marshall are no longer working on the TX & Blade has said that he doesn't mind someone else carrying on their work. Aro & I have talked about working on a new version of the TX but we are both too busy atm. _________________

red brick
red brick road.....well, if i am not mistaken there is a section of my street that used to be red brick.......now im gonna have to watch old movies cuz i know ive seen red brick roads before, well old style movies, but anyway..... _________________ I am authorized to send out the TMP Studio, PM ME IF YOU WANT IT And check this out, these were sent to me for help with terrain and zdata help along with TMP Studio/Builder
I'd imagine red bricks would be for new roads, like in posh estates. Only new brick roads I've seen are small sections done in a washed out yellow colour, kind of like informal crossings. QUICK_EDIT

terrain
yeah, thats what i was thinking. Most bricks start off red, but the dirt from everyday life turns them a bit greyish. So do you MigEater or OmegaBolt have anything you 2 would like to contribute to a new terrain pack?? _________________ I am authorized to send out the TMP Studio, PM ME IF YOU WANT IT And check this out, these were sent to me for help with terrain and zdata help along with TMP Studio/Builder

is that a ramp or flat piece? kinda looks like a ramp, not sure _________________ I am authorized to send out the TMP Studio, PM ME IF YOU WANT IT And check this out, these were sent to me for help with terrain and zdata help along with TMP Studio/Builder
I personally think another Terrain Expansion would be neat. Besides, I need to learn how to make my own terrain anyways for my mod that I have in the planning stages. QUICK_EDIT

O DEAR GOD!!!! GET THIS PERSON A DVD PLAYER AND A COPY OF THE MOVIE......sorry. its like 50 years old, i would have figured everyone would have seen it at least once by now.
Anyway, Shakar......Making terrain isn't hard. Use the stuff I sent you, they were sent to me so its a start. I found the hardest things to do is making my highway ramps. Making the slanted cliff meet up with the road and the actual ramps. You kinda have to make it piece by piece...My ramps are 3 wide 4 high. All I had to do was make the first ramp and then copy those images and extra images to the next piece and raise it one level. The side cliffs are not as hard to make since i have been learning to use PhotoShop CS3. If you make grass or any ground material, its a matter of blending it together so it flows. When you have stuff post them up. In my opinion...MigEater, Blade, DJBreit, Marshall, and I believe Aro are your best critics...
I've read that other people have used programs like blander and such for things like cliff, but at the current time I don't have the patience to learn how to use it. If Mig has the patience to answer a question I think asking him to share his wisdom on such matters would be a great help to you. _________________ I am authorized to send out the TMP Studio, PM ME IF YOU WANT IT And check this out, these were sent to me for help with terrain and zdata help along with TMP Studio/Builder

As Mig says we don't mind people putting together a new build so long as it doesn't break existing stuff, you don't even have to use another numbered mix for all we care, just add your stuff to the existing one, update the .ini files with the new stuff and I can probably get marshall to build the new installer for it too. Just make sure you do some forward planning, once a tileset is implemented and in use, you can't change the tiles in the set unless its the last set without breaking all others that follow for example (unless they are the same size and you don't add more). This means no new pallets I'm afraid.
I have access to the TX website at tx.strategy-x.com and can post updates as needed. If anyone else wanted to do any work on updating the site that can probably be arranged. You also might want to look into making launchbase plugins as the TX plugin would need updating for that too (needs marshall to sign the plugin).
I'll endorse any version as official within reason as long it is doesn't break existing maps (TX or otherwise) without good reason and maintains a reasonable standard. I'm sure DJBREIT and anyone else who has contributed over the years feels the same. As with Mig, if you have questions you can PM me as well. QUICK_EDIT
I can pull Team BNF's Navyfield Terrain, yet it'll mostly work on water and coastlines. _________________ I am Zengar Zombolt, The Sword That Cleaves Evil! There is Nothing I can not Cut! QUICK_EDIT

break the rules
well, i know about breaking the rules, many moons ago i tried to reorder the urban ini file to make it look neater and yeah....um.....lets just say it was a cluster f**k. all i plan on doing is adding the new tiles to the end of the list. I believe this is the last entry from previous urbanmd.ini
all i have done was created tileset 153 all the way to tileset 190 and added them to the list. they show up and they work fine _________________ I am authorized to send out the TMP Studio, PM ME IF YOU WANT IT And check this out, these were sent to me for help with terrain and zdata help along with TMP Studio/Builder
