How to do manual normals?

Can a good voxeler write a tutorial on how to do manual normals?

I have a problem with a voxel. I added a new turret to one of Tonys voxels for my mod. I used the same colors as tony used on the body so it would fit. But my turret was very bright ingame while hes wasnt. They look nice in editor thought. I guess Tony made the normals manualy thats why it lookd so good ingame.

I could of sworn Roaches wrote a proper Normals tutorial on PPM, from searching it looks like he didn't... I did however come across a small one that Jeeves wrote at the CNCGuild however.

The only guide I have is from Mason, ad it's only for TS. you would have to ask him if you can use it.

Also~ let me see the turret. pm.

Roaches has been MIA for a long while. Sad

Roaches did a custom normals tutorial for the TO team, covering TS and RA2 normals.
Maybe someday it might be released.

Sane did a visual guide to TS normals which makes it a breeze, but if you don't have it, then you aren't getting it, by the terms of Sane.

Yeah I knew I'd seen him post one somewhere! Back when I was part of TO. ROFLMAO!!!
Either way, the odds of SaneDisruption handing something over that could be good and useful for PPM are very low these days (shame), shame that Roaches guide is limited to the TO staff, it's actually really, really useful.

Not to PPM.
If you know which forums to look on, he released it there.
I think he was releasing it to the group of people who were least likely to bug him with idiotic questions.

That image by Jeeves has alot of common with Mig Eaters TS normals(DL here). What does it mean? I am going to try Mig Eaters normals

After reading this thread, I see there no idea on asking Sane and Roaches.

I think its ridiculus that they dont want to share a tutorial which help this community.

And what the hell have you done to my truck? Laughing

Use these norm settings on the turret to match the truck ingame:

note that sometimes a turret and even parts of multi section vxls look off in hva builder, compared to the main body
