Heres the new design for the Recon bike (which i bundled in with TSR 1.21) its made by Muldrake (Supreme Commander #Tongue) and its much more like the renders and much better looking that the original

Something that u wont see until 1.25 is the cameo I just made, which i included on the picture. I made it as close as possible to the cameo seen on the back of the european TS box.

As with many units, the Recon bike is gunna have an overhaul for 1.25, it will keep its usage, but carry it out much better and be more useful.

Just sharing it with everyone:

SMIFFGIG [TSR 1.21 has been RELEASED!!!!] diz:
wt u think
http://ppm.cncguild.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=35708#35708

Banshee diz:
checking..

Banshee diz:
it fits more the TS style... but for some reason, I still prefer the original #Tongue

SMIFFGIG [TSR 1.21 has been RELEASED!!!!] diz:
voxel or cameo

Banshee diz:
both, specially cameo

Banshee diz:
cameo could be better... voxel is fine, but in both cases, the original is better...

Unfortunately, the sky in the cameo looks pixelated. Sad

okay, after thinking the bike was fine.. both me and Smiff then agreed it should be made a bit more curved (from front to back) and a bit more sleeker. So here is a newer version of the bike.. which will hopefully fit its role nicely in 1.25

on the top part of the bike in the cameo it is too pixelated, it needs to blend a little more with the BG

nitpickers... i think both are very good but the 2nd screenshots needs to be better, because the bike still looks better on the 1st.

Oh SMIFF, one thing. I apparently have a left over voxel in my Sun folder that I was testing, that I gave the nickname of the nod recon bike for testing purposes... Now the game uses that voxel instead, but anyhow, that's not the problem. In TSR, does the recon bike go slower than it does in normal TS, or is that just something wrong with my sun folder?

Cause IMO, the whole point of the recon bike is it hauls ass...

Sorry, the second screenshot was done in the windowed mode, so resolution was low. Also, it was done on darker ground *lol* not a good idea Laughing
The windowed mode is a very nice extra for Retro, damn useful Razz
This is a slightly more up-to-date model too, as I've properly scaled it, so its more in proportion.

And FM, the bike speed has not been changed.. it should be the same as it was in TS. However, the whole unit workings will be overhauled in 1.25 Very Happy

Anyway, new screenshot:

Would I be incorrect to assume that Muldrake is the newest member of the TSR team?

Its not that good Firestorm, nothing compared to your work, and you are THE Retro Voxeller Smile

And no, I'm not a team member, *lol* for two reasons:
1, I'm just helping out a with a few things, namely suggestions, ideas and a few models (even though TSR has one fine Voxel Editor already)
I just want to help make TSR one hell of a mod (which is it is anyway)

2, There is no team Razz
Smiffgig has done 90% of the work on Retro, he's worked his damn heart out of this to produce one of the best TS mods EVER.. practically single-handedly! Shocked
I feel that deserves one hell of a round of appaulse, don't you think guys!? Especially after Retro 1.2! Very Happy

Yes SMIFF is the man.. but without the EXCELLENT additions of some other people the mod wouldn't be that good imo;

some good mapping work from FM
some, i mean tons of sounds from Seaman
a load of very nice voxels from FS

.... Crying or Very sad i wanna have a team for TSTW!! Crying or Very sad

SeaMan helped TSR with a lot of features, however, he was the cause of 90% or more of SMIFFGIG's headaches #Tongue. But he still deserves credits for the good things he did...

he didnt add any, he extracted them from renegade and sent them too me.
e.g. I would ask for specific sounds for certain items/units etc and he would extract the sounds and send em across

who was ever trying to win anything ?? Question

jeez this looks like another thread that has taken the road to "spam". (tottaly weird spam may I add)

Anyway all posts from here on must be on topic or will be deleted!

Mytrust if you really do have something (sensful) to say about TSR I suggest making a new thread

IMO FS worked his ass off too. One of TSR's best features is its new voxels (*cough and new maps*). SMIFF did a ton, but FS went above and beyond the call of duty as well.

we all know that FM? Is there a problem?
Everyone who contributed got credit, and of course FS got highest credit and is on the team page. But you know this anyway, so im quite baffled at what your post was trying to suggest ?

Remember this thread is about the Recon Bike

I don't mean to go offtopic... It's just... I'm unclear as to what point the "team" became just a group of misc contibrutors.

FS is in the so called team as i just said

MetalMario was never in the team (yet you added him to the team page)
SpiderMan is not in the team (he contributed the laser turret) which is great but hardly worthy of being in the TSR team (which he is of course aware of)
And FM you know exactly why your not in the team, unless the PM's, emails and MSN discussions we had you have convienently forgotten.

FS is in the team because of his superb voxel work (and cause hes a great guy) TSR wouldnt have been the same with out him.
But this theoretical team, of which wasnt even made by me (the creator of TSR) is a rather frustrating annoyance.

I dont think its hard to realise this is my mod, and i have done most of the work in it, I appreciate help from other people but I do not and will not add every person who other people appoint as team members.

Its getting quite disheartening and worrying that there is some myth that I did very little for my own mod (which seems to be only within PPM) and other people did the work, when the actual case is I did at bare minimum 85% of the work for TSR and 99% of the concepts and ideas in which TSR should follow (as it is my mod) with FS contributing another large percentage with not only voxels but nice ideas and other misc things.

The rest accumulates the remainder of the work

Abit of percpective here would be nice and appreciated

Well i don't know what SMIFF and FM discussed on MSN or what kind of fight you guys have had;

i just get the idea that FM did a good amount of mapping work, aside from donating some of his oldies..

TSR wouldn't be the same without the superb maps (i'm talking about Tib Valley and OverExtended and Aurora and perhaps Dammed.

I did aurora and overxt is converted RA2 map

However ther was no FIGHT and i AM extremely grateful for FM's maps as he knows

This is how things get blown out of proportion ! Rolling Eyes
