with photo shop, and nerves of steel! Laughing

what you do is open the vxl, and resize the canvas to the size of what you want, and copy each layer from the top (or whatever angle you want) and then paste into photoshop(or free gimp.. W/E), the new image must be the dimensions of your voxel.

Next enlarge the image, and edit the edges to get rig of anti-aliasing, and then copypasta back into vxlse. Do this for each layer.

You could of course use the "Full Resize" feature in vxlse, but you will wind up with a VERY blocky mess.

Or there is the HVA builder's voxel boundaries option, and I think that VXLSE3 has a similar option.

yes Orac, I completely forgot that, and iirc older versions used to mess up your voxel if you resized, but I think thats fixed now.

I still encourage the way I suggested though.. it builds character. Laughing

Rezising stuff via PS is the worst way ever of resizing vxl! You can only edit two of the three dimensions at a time & requires a ton of work to get right.

If you want to make a vxl bigger use VXLSE to resize it, if you want to make something smaller then edit the bounds within the voxels header.

Better still, create your voxels the right size, that's what I do! Laughing

I use the Full Resize in VxlIIIse, make it double the size. Then I use the HVA Builders vxl bounds manager and downsize it from there 25%. That process gives me a 25% bigger vxl. Keep in mind, if you have a turret and/or barrel or rotors you'll have to resize and replace them back in proper position as well. I suggest you delete the original hva file before redoing placements and/or animations. reusing the original hva file tends to give you problems ingame.

I want to use it to resize the TS units, like a couple of the mechs and nod tanks, some of them are far to small.

Most Mechs are SHPs, so that shouldn't be too hard for you to do.

Weeeeeell, if you have the original 3D model, then you can convert it to a voxel. Otherwise, you'll have to fiddle it in the SHP editor to resize it.

Depends on the game - If you want any of the assets from renegade onwards then they were already accessible 3D models, and can be extracted and converted. Anything before renegade, and all voxels of SHPs will fan remakes.

I have done it to great effect, if you do it with bounds on hva builder or vxlse, you get stretched out shit.

As for my method, It's only the worst way if your not willing to take the time to do it right.

Hmm, I've never had a problem using vxlIII and hva builder to resize my units. As long as they are resized correctly they will turn out just fine.
