3d cliffs
Has anyone tried DounutArnolds 3d cliff tutorial? Something just dosent seem right to me. Unless I did something wrong. But the first step says create a plane width=200 and hieght=326 but in 3ds max "which he recommends using" that is huge! (pic) compared to the grid.

the grid is completely irrelevant, as the camera lens settings affect the later size of the rendered cliff as well as the picture size.
Press "g" to disable the grid so it doesn't bothers you anymore.
Just follow the tutorial and everything should work fine.
btw, you made a flat plane with 200 length and 326,8 width, while the tutorial says it should be 326,8 high. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings
Ignore that grid in the perspective view. It's useless (sometimes.) And your plane seems to use X and Y scales. You should use X or Y and Z scales (X or Y=200 and Z=326,8 ). You can try to create the plane in either front view or left/right view. Not in perspective view or bottom/top view. QUICK_EDIT
Thanks guys, I just didnt know if I was doing something awfully wrong or not. I'm going to follow the tut from front to back w/ grid off. Wish me luck... _________________

God I'm so helples at times. Man I cant even get past the first step
I tried like hell to get the rounded top and bottom, but failed miserably.

I dont know I think your tutorial dosent like me , am I supposed to use Bend Modifier or something else to get that arch? I tried the editpoly,extrude,edge thingy and it didnt work either. Another thing also is when I make a plane it dosent give me the option to use the Z axis for height, only width and lentgh could that be my problem? _________________

Before I go any further, does this look like it will do? and if I use this all other cliffs will need the same exact bends right? Or should I try to make it a little more round?
