New Of The Week (23 to 30/11/2003)
This week I was quite busy, so the ammount of news in this site reduced a bit.... but it's still not a reason to stop the news of the week that I do weekly for months (I dont know how) and I only missed 2 weeks so far . This week is full of news, so you have no reason to say that you are bored, specially before 3 cool mods were released today: BattleMech 1.0 and Bliztkrieg 2 for Generals and also Sudden Strike for Yuri's Revenge. Here's load of news:
Pure Tiberian Sun Community News:
- Project Perfect Mod: We have released the first fan tool that converts the JASC Palettes to palettes used in C&C 95, Red Alert 1 and 2 and Tiberian Sun. The tool is currently on version 1.2, but it will not be updated anymore. Everyone can download it here. Other than that we have:
-> RA2 Animations converted to TS by Firestorm here.
-> One new voxel of an aircraft from TerroR here.
-> New Research: Understanding SHP (TS) format for Delphi programmers (based on XCC source code and including source code of Stu's program to view SHP (TS) files) here.
- TiberiumSun.com: TumSun might be returning tomorrow or in the next few days and the webmasters will be (as far as I know) SMIFFGIG, TheDvD and Froggy... although I cant confirm this info, but SMIIFFGIG is certainly there. Unfortunatelly, TumSun might not be updated as often as it used to be with FM.
- TumSun Great Map Competition: RVMECH has announced that he has already finished his map. There are 8 screenshots available at CNCDEN. FinalMoon will probably be replaced by The_DvD and KrnYoshi seems to have managed to fix the problem he had with TS by burrowing a tibsun.mix from his TS cd. Note: We changed our poll on Map contest replacing Finalmoon with The DvD, but this doesnt means that this changed is confirmed.
Tiberian Sun Mods:
- NCM Revolution: Triforce has posted a new screenshot of a revamped Power Plant for NCM side. You can see it in the news below.
- Tiberian Sun: Hidden Shadows: Venom has posted 4 screenshots in the Screenshot forum from TSHS which includes the EMP infantry in early stages, GDI and Nod cameos and a Mammoth Tank from Awrethien.
- Tiberian Sun Retro: SMIFFGIG has posted one new screenshot of GDI voxels and info on hunter seeker (for GDI). You can check them in TSR forums.
- Tiberian Sun #The fREaK! Edition: #The fREak! has posted a new screenshots of the GDI and Nod cameo from the Battle APC in the forum of his mod in Strategy Gaming Central Network Forums. He has also re-posted the old 2 screenshots that were lost when dEw MaN updated the SGC forums from phpbb to invision power board.
Red Alert 2 Mods:
- Allies Revenge 2: Other than a great week of progress, they've showed the animation of the Armageddon unit moving... and I must say that it looks really nice. You can view it in AR2 forums.
- Battle Tech: Fire In The Horizon: A lot has been done there. Here's a list:
-> BT Weekly Poll #1 and BT Weekly Poll #2. Two polls where everyone can vote and the decision can cause a high impact on the mod. The poll #1 is about superweapons in the mod, if they should exist and be in a huge scale, if they should exist and affect a small area or removed them from the mod. The second poll is about if mechs could be hijacked or mind controlled.
-> Sketches, screenshot of the menu and even a screenshot of one of the mechs in the Voxel Editor can be found here.
-> More mech sketches here
-> Flags of the new sides here.
- RA2: Corrupt World: Iceman559 is desesperatelly in need of staff for this mod. He needs SHP, voxel artists, co-coders, etc... you can find full details here.
- RA2: Massive Destruction: The loading screen contest continues and now ComradeJ has updated his loading screen and also MedalMonkey submited a loading screen also. You can check and comment them here
- RA2: Nuclear Winter: TheDarQ has removed the minimod (a sort of alpha version of this mod) from the site. The mod is no longer available to download. This decision was made because there is still a lot to be worked on before really releasing it. For those who played, make sure that the final version will be much better than what you saw .
- Sudden Strike: Sydro has released the mod in the beggining of the week. Of course, due to a great feedback he received, many things were done. He has posted new flags that will be in the next version, he posted the changes he is doing in the mod due to feedbacks in this thread and also Sydro needs someone to help him in aimd.ini. If you have some AI skills, email [url=mailto:sydr0@hotmail.com">him[/url]. He has also made a screenshot and a FAQ section in SS site. Make sure you read the FAQ before playing the mod.
- YR²: At Mooman's Corner, MooMan65 has announced that YR² will be beta tested by the public very soon, but to beta test it, you have to register in C-GEN forums.
- RA2: Savage War: Rattuskid has released the Ba-X armored soviet jeep voxel. You can download it here.
- YR Argentina: Even busy with his exams, ArgCmdr has added new material to YR Argentina. Here's the new stuff:
-> Allied Medic (by Lord Kal, from RA2: Broken Alliance)
-> GLA's Zero Hour Pack voxels (by Daz, from Project Hawk)
Head yourself to YR Argentina to download them.
Generals Mods:
- Hamzie Gamers: Battle Mech Mod 1.0 was released. This mod adds 10 mechs from Battle Tech universe and more stuff for Generals (the site doesnt mention Zero Hour). Thanks to The Kid for the news tip.
- Blitzkrieg II: Blitzkrieg 2, one of the best, older and most famous mods, was finally released in this week. Unfortunatelly, it had a critical AI bug. They are working on a small patch that will fix it, although 2 maps works fine: Paris and Rhine Valley. You can download it and check more updated info on the bugs they had in Blitzkrieg II site.
- Tiberian Twilight Evolution: ZDFlamer2 has posted 2 concept arts of the GDI MLRS and Nod Flame Tank here.
Generals Resources:
- CnC Frontline: They have added some replays of the Zero Hour Tournament they are promoting. It's always good to watch them to learn some cool new strategies.
CnC Community News:
- CNCDEN: Congrats to Lion and all of those who aided him to get 2 million hits to CNC DEN. It's a milestone that I doubt that PPM will reach one day.
- CnC Source: Congratulations to CnC Source for its first birthday that happened on november 27th. Although they existed for a longer time, they celebrate their birthday in this date.
- Red Alert 2 Vault: AI started to work on the C&C News section in RA2 Vault. So far there is an affiliates round up but I hope that the tendency is to grow. You can view this C&C News section here.
CNC Fan Art:
- CnC Frontline: They've added 2 new CnC Cartoons in this week.
- Planet CnC: They've got 2 new drawings made by Jungwei: GDI Base Evacuation and General Mig Concept. Both can be viewed here.
- Project Perfect Mod: Sk8erkid made the George Bush Bomb and you can view it (and laugh) at the Crap Forum. Terror has also made an animation based on that which you can download and transform to SHP and use in your mod .
That's all for now. If I keep writting news, I will not rest . But you guys can also look for a tool in Deezire.net to add some extra features to World Builder and... ok, I'm shutting up for now . Enjoy it. QUICK_EDIT

I have a correction for you mister Banshee, We have seven new screenshots(including the ones you listed). You can go there and see for yourself. I was going to add them with the rest but for some reason the files didn't get onto the disk I had... _________________ Tiberian Sun Hidden Shadows Mod Leader and Overlord of PPM. The news was originally posted in... errr... 2003. We are now close to 2010. It's been a lot of time since then. I think Hamzie is gone and Google hardly gives any clue if any other site ever mirrored that mod. QUICK_EDIT
